Spice Up Your Life With Wendy’s Spicy Chicken Sandwich Deal

It might be just me, but I feel like my budget is getting tighter and tighter by the day.  In addition to the grocery list for Thanksgiving dinner that seems to just keep growing, waiting on Black Friday promotions to stock up on kitchen essentials, and the ever-growing holiday gift lists for family and friends, my budget is stretched thin — and it seems to only be getting worse thanks to inflation. Luckily, fast food chains nationwide are feeling the strain, too, and it seems like Wendy’s has re-entered the meal deal wars with a delicious deal. Now through December 9, customers can get a spicy Wendy’s Chicken Sandwich for a steep discount. If you thought the fast food chicken sandwich war was over, this deal may signal that it’s officially back on.

What is the Wendy’s Spicy Chicken Sandwich deal?

Starting today, customers can get a Wendy’s Spicy Chicken Sandwich through the Wendy’s app for just $3.99 — less than the typical price of $5.99. This deal is only going on through December 29, now is the perfect time to get a head start on those holiday savings. Wendy’s describes the Spicy Chicken Sandwich as a juicy chicken breast breaded and marinated in “our unique, fiery blend of peppers and spices to deliver more flavor inside and out.” This deal may be in response to other fast food chains, as the meal deal wars rage on.

Do I need the Wendy’s app to get the deal?

Unfortunately, customers can only access the deal through the Wendy’s app. If you don’t have the app, you’ll be stuck paying the original sticker price. If you’re in the mood for a deal but don’t have room for the app on your phone, a good alternative is the Crispy Chicken Biggie Bag for $6 to get the most bang for your buck. With this deal, you can score a Wendy’s Crispy Chicken Sandwich, a four-piece nugget (in original or spicy), junior fries, and a small drink.

Though it’s unclear if the deal is correlated, Wendy’s is also expected to close 140 “underperforming locations” by the end of the year. While they plan to replace these locations with more profitable ones, it’s uncertain as to when they’ll be built.

What other fast food meal deals should I try?

If you have the Burger King app and are part of their Royal Perks program, you can redeem a $1 Whopper in their “offers” tab until they’ve sold a million whoppers. If you prefer chicken over beef, McDonald’s also has a meal deal through their app where you can get 10 McNuggets for a dollar once a week. If you want to feed more than just yourself, KFC has multiple website and app-exclusive deals such as the Meal For Two, which comes with two fried chicken sandwiches, four of their Original Recipe tenders, two sides (of your choosing), two medium drinks, and two dipping sauces all for $17. You can bring the cost down by $2 by swapping out the tenders for a 10-count nugget. And, of course, chicken lovers can stick to the spicy Wendy’s sandwich for just four Abe Lincolns.
