Wendy’s & Takis Are Dropping The Fuego Meal

When the summer heat is already cooking me alive, I’m usually reaching for something icy, refreshing, and definitely not spicy, but apparently, Wendy’s and Takis had a different vision. Known for serving up bold flavor combos, Wendy’s has officially teamed up with Takis for a new summer collab, and let me just say, it’s a spicy one. As someone who’s fiercely loyal to their chicken nuggets and obsessed with the Caramel Vanilla Frosty Swirl, I didn’t expect my favorite fast food spot to go full fuego for the summer. But I’ve got to admit, the bold move has me curious (and maybe a little excited). If you’re the kind of person who thinks “it’s not hot enough unless I’m sweating,” this might just be your moment.

What’s so hot about the Wendy’s and Takis collab?

At the heart of the Wendy’s and Takis collab is the brand new Fuego Meal, a fiery combo built for heat-seekers and flavor fanatics alike. The star of the show is the Takis Fuego Chicken Sandwich, which features a crispy chicken filet topped with crushed Takis Fuego chips, a tangy chili lime sauce, creamy corn spread, and melty cheddar cheese sauce, all stacked on a toasted bun. If that wasn’t already intense, it’s paired with Fuego Fries, which are Wendy’s natural-cut fries dusted in a Takis-inspired chili lime seasoning blend. The meal is rounded out with a bag of exclusive Takis Fuego chips, only available through this collab. It’s a full send into spice, and it’s only available at Wendy’s.

When can I catch fire?

The Fuego Meal officially hits Wendy’s menus nationwide on June 20, so mark your calendars and maybe keep a glass of milk nearby. While the press release doesn’t exactly spill whether this drop is app-exclusive or available through the app at all, it’s probably safest to have the Wendy’s app ready to go just in case. With a launch this hyped (and this spicy), you won’t want to be stuck refreshing the menu, hoping for a miracle.

How else can I turn up the heat?

To turn up the heat even more, Wendy’s is launching a retro arcade-style mobile game called Spice Invasion, and honestly, it sounds like peak summer chaos in the best way. Available from June 20 to July 20, players will blast Wendy’s menu items using Takis chips while navigating terrain that’s as spicy as the collab itself. Rack up points to unlock prizes, and you’ll even be entered for a shot at the $10,000 grand prize. Whether you’re a casual gamer or someone who still holds deep nostalgia for your Game Boy Advance SP (Kirby’s Pinball Land, anyone?), this feels like the kind of chaos we can fully get behind.

Can’t wait? Don’t sweat it!

If June 20 still feels like a fever dream away, don’t sweat it, literally. Wendy’s has a few ways to keep fans satisfied while the countdown continues. Their Frosty Fusions are doing the most this summer, mixing their classic vanilla Frosty with fun flavors like Oreo Brownie, Pop-Tarts Strawberry, and Caramel Crunch. And if you’re looking to cool down without the sugar rush, the Tangerine Twist Lemonade is the tangy, citrusy pick-me-up you didn’t know you needed.
