H-E-B Is Going Viral For Its Giant Carrots

It’s not super uncommon to go to the grocery store and see some strangely shaped produce. You may see a slightly misshaped eggplant, an apple with some funky bumps, or a strawberry that barely resembles its normal shape. There’s plenty of uncontrollable factors that affect how produce is shaped and sized, so it’s not too weird to see a fruit or vegetable anomaly at the grocery store. However, it’s not everyday that you’re met with what some have dubbed “colossal carrots.” If you grocery shop at your local H-E-B, the chances of getting your hands on one of these enormous carrots is actually extremely high.

What are the giant H-E-B carrots?

Well, they’re exactly what they sound like — huge carrots that are being sold at H-E-B. While everyone’s definition of what’s considered “huge” is different, there’s no denying that these carrots are remarkably big. Your typical carrot is usually not large in circumference. Anyone who has seen a carrot (so basically, everyone) knows that they’re actually a particularly skinny vegetable. Apparently, H-E-B did not get this memo.

TikToker Jillian Bledsoe showed off her H-E-B giant carrots that came in her grocery order. She said she was just trying to make chicken noodle soup, but what she didn’t expect was to end up with four, monster-sized carrots for her soup. Guess she’ll have a lot more soup than she anticipated. As you can see in her video, the carrots’ shape and size resembles more that of an eggplant than a carrot. Their orange color is basically their only identifiable characteristic.

How are people reacting to the giant H-E-B carrots?

Overall, people are finding these H-E-B giant carrots hilarious and wondering how it’s even possible for carrots to get this big. One TikToker joked that H-E-B was preparing for Texas-sized snowmen, with the context of the historic snowstorm that hit a huge portion of the country. A giant snowman would need an equally giant carrot nose.

TikToker Stacey Lo showed off her own grocery order of H-E-B’s giant carrots, tagging the grocery chain and saying “curbside your days are numbered.” The giant carrots took her by surprise, as she was not expecting to be given a produce anomaly when she placed her order. H-E-B’s official TikTok account played into it, commenting “A nice warm soup perhaps? 😅.” The four carrots weighed seven pounds in total. She definitely had enough carrots to last her through the storm.

In fact, the person who packed Stacey’s grocery order at H-E-B made a post about the carrots as well. @CuratedbyEsther on TikTok posted herself packing Stacey’s curbside order, joking about how enormous the carrots were. When people saw Stacey’s identical carrots, they connected the dots and realized that she had packed the order from Stacey’s viral video. The internet works in crazy ways, especially when giant carrots are involved.
