The Best Veterans Day Food Deals & Freebies

Since the armistice signing on November 11, 1918 at the end of World War I, the United States has celebrated Veterans Day every year. It is a day to honor military personnel, and lots of food places have chosen to honor the military with either deals or free meals. Many establishments offer military discounts year-round, but on Veterans Day, food places break out the best deals for our nation’s heroes. Vets with active or valid military ID this year on November 11 can take advantage of these deals, and the best coffee places, fast food, and restaurant deals are listed below.

Coffee Shop Deals for Veterans Day

Starbucks

All Veterans, military service members and spouses can receive a free tall brewed coffee (hot or iced) through in store or drive-in purchases. The deal is limited to one free drink per customer.

Dunkin’

Get a free doughnut at Dunkin’ if you are an active or retired military employee. Dunkin’ limits one doughnut per customer and only offers this deal while supplies last. It is also only available in-store and not through the mobile app.

Peet’s Coffee

At all Peet’s retail coffee shops, veterans can get a free drip coffee or tea of any size. The deal does not apply to online purchases.

Tim Hortons

A free classic doughnut will be given out to veterans and active military. This deal is only available at participating locations and is valid for one doughnut per customer, and this deal cannot be combined with other offers.

Fast Food Deals for Veterans Day

In-N-Out Burger

A complimentary meal consisting of any burger, fries, and beverage will be provided to veterans, active duty military, reserves, and the National Guard.

Raising Cane’s

Veterans, active military, and military spouses can get 10% off any purchase.

SONIC Drive-In

SONIC is offering half-priced shakes to veterans, which will include classic and master shakes in any size and flavor.

Wendy’s

A free sausage, egg, and cheese English muffin, Breakfast Baconator combos, and honey butter chicken biscuit is available to veterans and active military members.

Whataburger

A free 16-ounce iced or hot coffee is available to veterans and active military. This deal starts on Veterans Day but will be extended and offered every day here after.

Krystal

A free breakfast sandwich is available for all military personnel. Breakfast sandwich options include a bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit, a sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit, and more.

Restaurant Deals for Veterans Day

Chili’s

Looking for a free entree? Enjoy one at Chili’s if you are a veteran or an active military member.

Applebee’s

All military personnel can receive a free meal from a selective menu. This option is only available for dine-in and only available at participating locations.

Buffalo Wild Wings

Veterans and military members can get the 10 boneless wings and fries meal for free.

California Pizza Kitchen

A complimentary meal chosen from a select menu is available to military personnel. Military members will also receive a BOGO (Free Take & Bake) coupon, which they can redeem during a future visit, between the dates November 12 through November 25, for a salad, pizza, or pasta.

Dave & Buster’s

Veterans can get an up to $20 entree for free, and a free power card for $10.

Denny’s

A free original grand slam, which includes two buttermilk pancakes, eggs, bacon, and sausage, is offered to military members.

IHOP

Veterans are offered a free red, white, and blueberry pancake combo at participating restaurants.

Olive Garden

Members of the military can enjoy a free entrée from a special menu on Veteran’s Day.

Outback Steakhouse

Veterans can receive a free Bloomin’ Onion and beverage with a purchase of any adult entrée. This deal is only available for dine-in. 

Texas Roadhouse

Veterans and active military can eat a free meal from a select menu, or get a meal voucher that is good on Veterans Day from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for dine-in or takeout. This deal is only available at locations that are participating.

BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse

A sweet treat and free appetizer is available to veterans and current military members. Some of the free appetizers include avocado egg rolls, deep dish nachos, sliders, ahi poke, calamari, and wings. BJ’s is also offering a free chocolate chunk pizookie to vets, which is a chocolate chunk cookie covered in vanilla ice cream. All military personnel will also receive a voucher for a free appetizer that is valid from November 12 to December 31 and can be used for dine-in or takeout.

Golden Corral

This restaurant is hosting a Military Appreciation Night at all locations, and Veterans and active military will receive a free meal and beverage. There will also be representatives from Disabled American Veterans (DAV) onsite to advocate for donations to their organization.

The Greene Turtle

A free meal up to $15 is available to veterans and active military personnel at select locations. This offer is only available for dine-in. In addition, this deal is unable to be combined with other restaurant discounts.

Perry’s Steakhouse

Veterans can get a free pork chop dinner with the purchase of a dinner entrée. Without the purchase of the dinner entrée, veterans can receive a pork chop for half price.

Logan’s Roadhouse

Veterans can enjoy a free meal from a select menu at participating locations. The meals include their all-American cheeseburger, hand-breaded chicken tenders, chopped steak, BBQ grilled pork chop, and steak tips.

Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar

All military personnel can get a free all-American burger with cheese and a side of any choosing.

Good Times Burgers & Frozen Custard

Veterans and active military members can enjoy a free deluxe cheeseburger combo that is available when they dine-in.

Sullivan’s Steakhouse

Called the “heroic” deal, Sullivan’s Steakhouse is offering its signature Angus burger with fries for free to all military personnel, available while supplies last.

Eddie Merlot’s

The Eddie’s prime cheeseburger with fries is available for free, while supplies last, to all veterans and active military members.

Bar Louie

Active and retired veterans can receive a free burger beginning Sunday, November 10, through Monday, November 11. This deal is only available through dine-in.

Happy Joe’s

This restaurant is offering a deal for veterans and active military members which includes a free lunch smorgasbord with a drink, or a free small pizza.

Friendly’s

A free all-American burger with cheese and a beverage is offered to any military personnel who dine-in.

Taziki’s

This cafe has donated a dollar from every gyro sold to the Wounded Warrior Project. This project provides veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan help with mental health, career counseling, and rehabilitation. Taziki’s also has a “Gyros for Our Heroes” deal, which gives veterans a free grilled chicken gyro meal including chips and a choice of side. The “Gyros for Our Heroes” deal is only available through dine-in at participating locations.

Twin Peaks

A free lunch from a select menu is available to all military personnel. Items off the selected menu include cheeseburgers, chicken tender baskets, blackened chicken quesadillas, philly cheesesteaks, and blackened fish tacos. This offer is valid only at participating locations.
