When it comes to St. Paddy’s celebrations, Trader Joe’s St. Patrick’s Day items always deliver, from the classic corned beef and cabbage to limited edition Irish beers and, of course, soda bread. While some Trader Joe’s Valentine’s Day items are still lingering on store shelves, here’s what we know so far about when Trader Joe’s St. Patrick’s Day items are coming back for 2025.
What St. Patrick’s Day food does Trader Joe’s have?
It wouldn’t be St. Patrick’s Day without corned beef and cabbage, and Trader Joe’s typically offers at least two options: Meat District Paddy’s Uncured Angus Corned Beef Brisket, and TJ’s brand Uncured Corned Beef Brisket (which is a little cheaper). These meats cook down beautifully in the crock pot and pair well with potatoes and cabbage for a St. Paddy’s day dinner.
Another Irish classic that’s typically found at Trader Joe’s in March is Blarney Scone Irish soda bread. This crumbly, tangy, and scone-like bread loaf is delightful when smeared with Irish butter.
Fans were heartbroken in 2024 when TJ’s didn’t have Irish Bangers (aka pork sausages) for St. Patrick’s Day after a few years of changing vendors. Hopefully, the leprechaun ill bring bangers back to Trader Joe’s for 2025.
What St. Patrick’s Day items are at Trader Joe’s this year?
In addition to Irish classics like soda bread and corned beef, Trader Joe’s also has some untraditional – yet uber-delicious — Irish food both for St. Paddy’s and year-round.
TJ’s is arguably renowned for its incredible cheese selection, and they always bust out a few fun dairy products for the holidays. For Christmas, it was the Cranberry Chevre Goat Cheese, and Valentine’s Day meant Sweetheart White Stilton Cheese; but for St. Patrick’s Day, TJ’s has a tried-and-true Irish Porter Cheddar. This white cheddar has a light beer flavor thanks to added stout and is a great addition to charcuterie spreads or on top of a burger. They also have Kerrygold Dubliner Irish Cheddar (which, IMO, is my holy grail of cheeses) and Pub Cheese year-round.
In 2024, Trader Joe’s also debuted an Irish Cheddar Cheese with Irish Whiskey. This robust cheddar has an extra sharpness from the booze, but the flavor is subtle according to fans. Both of the limited-edition Irish cheeses cost $12 per pound in 2024, which is a bit more expensive than other TJ’s cheeses.
And while it isn’t necessarily a chunk of cheese, TJ’s Cashel Blue Cheese Irish Potato Chips are a fantastic St. Patrick’s Day snack food (and they were selected as the Best New Product in Trader Joe’s 2025 Customer Choice Awards, if you need any more convincing).
Trader Joe’s also typically offers an easy beer bread mix in late February that is delicious when made with Guinness beer, according to customers. All you need is three ingredients: the mix, butter, and a beer of your choosing. (Or, you can totally forgo the Irish theme and try it with hard apple cider.)
Does Trader Joe’s sell alcohol for St. Patrick’s Day?
If your store carries alcohol, they might have Irish Cream Liqueur similar to Bailey’s — both Five Farms and Golden Vale liqueurs have been spotted at TJ’s stores in the past. While prices vary, these liqueurs typically retail for an affordable price at Trader Joe’s, and they pair perfectly with Slane Irish Whiskey in Irish coffee.
On the beer front, Trader Joe’s usually stocks Smithwick’s Red for St. Patrick’s Day. And, since it wouldn’t be an Irish holiday without splitting the G, TJ’s will usually sell Guinness Sláinte Draught Stout as well.
When are Trader Joe’s St. Patrick’s Day items coming back for 2025?
Though there’s been no official word from Trader Joe’s yet, St. Patrick’s Day items typically arrive during the last week of February or first week of March ahead of the March 17 holiday. According to a Trader Joe’s employee in New Jersey, the Irish Whiskey Cheddar arrived at their store on February 20, though it hasn’t hit shelves yet. In 2021, some Irish items arrived ahead of the start of the month, and last year, they arrived at a similar time, with exact dates varying by region of the country.
