We’re In A Pickle — We Can’t Escape The Dill Pickle Flavor

There’s a new flavor trend taking over this year and it’s becoming a really big dill. Dill pickle has surged in popularity with snack brands rolling out limited-edition releases and creators online getting more inventive using pickles in everything to enhance their snacks. As a big fan of the dill pickle flavor, it’s exciting to see how much the flavor is circulating on TikTok and in grocery store isles.

What are snack companies doing?

Chip and snack brands are expanding their selections since the dill pickle flavoring has become a huge hit in stores and the demand is constantly increasing. The limited-edition Flamin’ Hot Dill Pickle Cheetos are back on the shelves after being such a big hit last year, but this time they have graduated to being a part of the permanent line up. Cheetos also released a Flamin’ Hot Dill Pickle Puffs version for the fans of that melt-in-your-mouth texture. While the regular Flamin’ Hot Dill Pickle Cheetos are out nationwide, the Puffs version can be found at select stores such as Walmart and 7-Eleven.

Heluva Good Dip has just partnered with Grillo’s pickles for a limited-edition Dill Pickle Dip that will surely be flying off the shelves. If you are a true dill pickle fan, Grillo’s are one of the most popular dill pickle brands out there. With their fresh and zesty flavor, every crunch is an explosion in your mouth, making this collaboration all the more exciting. The new dip can be found at select grocery stores such as Hannaford, Stop & Shop, Shaw’s and more

These recent drops are a part of a broader dill pickle phenomenon, with the trend steadily growing into a mainstream obsession. Dill pickle flavoring can be found in nearly every aisle at groceries stores and the range of products are becoming more unique. Some more popular chip brands include Doritos Tangy Pickle Flavored Tortilla chips, Pringles Dill Pickle Crisps, and Lay’s Dill Pickle Flavored Potato chips. The pickle flavor has even entered condiment territory with dill pickle mayo from Ayoh! and Kraft

How do you make the viral Grillo’s pickle dip?

The dill pickle flavor trend isn’t just limited to stores. Creators online have been getting very creative with pickle inventions. The viral Grillo’s pickle dip has been exciting everyone, which may have been part of the reason for Heluva Good Dip’s recent release. The dip is easy to make and could certainly become a great party snack. With just a handful of ingredients, the dip comes together quickly and it’s delicious.

Most versions of the dip use one container of Grillo’s pickle spears, a jalapeño, a handful of green onions, whipped cream cheese, sour cream, shredded cheese, ranch seasoning, bacon bits and a splash of leftover pickle juice. To make it, simply chop up all of the ingredients, mix everything together, and serve it with chips.

The recipe is also customizable, with some people swapping in Greek yogurt instead, while others add hot sauce for some extra heat. While many stick with classic potato chips, some users, like Jen Morales, prefer Fritos for dipping. Overall, this dip is definitely a crowd-pleasing option for a Super Bowl party, or for anyone who loves a fun late-night snack.
