The Best Fast Food Frozen Drinks To Try This Summer

As a North Carolinian, I love finding new drinks and treats to cool off and refresh myself with. Lemonade is the classic refreshing drink of the summer, but a variety of drinks are rising in popularity. People are craving different flavor combinations, and fast food restaurants are trying to keep up. Places like Starbucks with their refreshers and McDonald’s with their new dirty sodas are bringing creative and aesthetic ways to chill out this summer, and many more of your favorite places are attempting the same. Chick-Fil-A, Sonic, Dairy Queen, and Smoothie King are all releasing interesting new drinks to try, some including unexpected flavors.

Sonic Frozen Refreshers

Released today, Sonic is elevating their popular refreshers, providing a slushy option for all of their flavors. Get a frozen taste of the berry citrus, strawberry passionfruit, mango peach, and new flavor watermelon peach refreshers.

While the happy hour discounts don’t apply, Sonic app users can get these new drinks at 20-ounce for $2.99 starting May 26 through May 31.

Chick-Fil-A Peach Frosted Lemonade

People have been looking forward to the seasonal release of the frosted lemonade and peach milkshakes for years now. The peach frosted lemonade combines the sweetness of the peach and tanginess of the lemonade with a creamy base to create a perfect balance of sweet and sour.

These treats are likely to be released in early June nationwide.  Rumor has it that it may be possible to add the peach puree to other Chick-fil-A beverages, like the sweet tea and Sunjoy for those that can do without the creamy flavor.

DQ Fruity Pebble Shake

Start your day with a cold cereal-themed treat from Dairy Queen: customers can enjoy a Fruity Pebble Shake, featuring the nostalgic cereal topped with whip cream. Not to be confused with their blizzards, the Fruity Pebbles are still mixed in with soft-serve vanilla ice cream, but with a more creamy, thinner consistency to make it easy to drink. And just like with the classic cereal eaten with milk, it’s best to drink it fast unless you like soggy pebbles.

Smoothie King & Grillo’s Pickle Smoothie

The pickle craze continues with a collab between Grillo’s Pickles and Smoothie King.. Hydration is at the forefront of this tangy creation. The Grillo’s pickle taste is paired with kale, banana, apple juice, coconut water, and an electrolyte blend for the ultimate way to quench your thirst. For true pickle lovers, pair this with your favorite sandwich and a side of dill pickle chips and pickle dip.
