Taco Bell Is Bringing Back A Fan Favorite Menu Item With A New Twist

While Taco Bell may be beloved for the classic tacos and burritos, the Mexican fast food chain’s  menu is constantly evolving with exciting new additions and spins on fan-favorites. In 2024, Taco Bell treated fans with the Cheez-It Crunchwrap and the Crispy Chicken Nuggets; this year, fans can expect new flavors of Baja Blast and Taco Bell Chalupas. At the company’s annual Live Màs Live keynote in March, TBell unveiled an expansive lineup of new menu items for 2025, including the Rolled Poblano Quesadilla and a new Flamin’ Hot Burrito. Along with 10 brand new items, Taco Bell will also be bringing back a few fan favorites this year—but with a creative twist. With anticipation at an all-time high following Live Màs Live, it’s finally time for these new items to officially start hitting menus nationwide.

What are the new Taco Bell menu items?

Taco Bell is officially launching its new Toasted Cheddar Street Chalupas, which is the ideal combo of two of Taco Bell’s most popular items: the Toasted Cheddar Chalupa and the Cheesy Street Chalupas. The Toasted Cheddar Chalupa was added to menus in 2019, and the Cheesy Street Chalupas joined menus last summer. Despite quickly becoming menu favorites, both of these items were discontinued, much to the dismay of fans. After six years of fans missing the Toasted Cheddar Chalupa, Taco Bell decided to bring it back, but with a street taco makeover.

What are the new Taco Bell Chalupas?

The Toasted Cheddar Street Chalupas are street taco-sized, featuring onions, cilantro, a new Chile Lime Crema Sauce, and your choice of either Cantina chicken or steak, all stuffed into a cheesy, crunchy tortilla shell.

The new Taco Bell Chalupa combines the best features of both menu items: the crispiness of the Toasted Cheddar Chalupa, and the cheesiness of the Cheesy Street Chalupas.

How can I get the new Taco Bell Chalupas?

Starting March 27, fans nationwide can enjoy a duo of Toasted Cheddar Street Chalupas for $5.49 a la carte for a limited time. Alternatively, the new Chalupas will also be included in the Taco Bell  Discover Luxe Box, which features two Toasted Cheddar Street Chalupas, a Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Taco, a Crunchy Taco, Cinnamon Twists, and a medium fountain drink for $9.

Are Taco Bell fries coming back in 2025?

The Street Chalupas are not the only new Taco Bell item coming to menus right now. Earlier this month, Taco Bell released a spicy version of the fan-favorite Cantina Chicken menu, which brings bold, and flavorful spice to the Cantina Chicken line-up of tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and bowls with a new hot Caliente Sauce.

The newest addition to the spicy menu are the Caliente Cantina Chicken Nacho Fries, which will be hitting menus alongside the new Chalupas. The Caliente Cantina Chicken Nacho Fries features the classic Nacho Fries topped with slow-roasted chicken, nacho cheese sauce, fiesta strips, and the Caliente Sauce. If you’re a loyal Nacho Fries fan but also love some spice, these new fries are the perfect combination.

If Caliente Chicken isn’t your thing, though, great news for Taco Bell fry fans — the Nacho Fries are also returning to menus after a brief hiatus.

How long will the new Taco Bell fries items be available?

The new Taco Bell Caliente Cantina Chicken Nacho Fries are available beginning today, March 27, for $5. Like the Cheddar Street Chalupas, the new Caliente Cantina Chicken Nacho Fries will only be available for a limited time. Get your hands on them while you can and look out for new releases from Live Màs Live.
