If you are a fan of Subway, then you know about the sandwich chain’s footlong cookies. They came onto the scene back in early 2024, and people haven’t been able to get enough of them since. Now, cookie lovers have another reason to visit the fast-casual spot, especially if you are an Oreo fan. Today, sandwich chain Subway debuted a new collaboration with cookie brand Oreo in the form of a footlong Oreo cookie.
What is the Oreo Footlong cookie?
The Oreo Footlong cookie is 12 inches of Subway’s chocolate cookie dough and Oreo pieces topped with a vanilla-flavored sweet cream and extra Oreo pieces on top. Like a traditional Oreo, this Footlong cookie can also be dunked in milk, if desired. Oh, and, of course, this cookie is served warm and can totally be shared (but why would you want to?)
How much does an Oreo Footlong cookie cost?
Remember the days of the $5 footlong promotion that Subway had from 2008 to 2014? If you are someone who longs for the $5 footlong of the past, you can get the Oreo Footlong cookie for only $5. It’s not the same as the sandwich, but for all 12 inches of that cookie, it’s a very good deal.
When will the Oreo Footlong cookie be available?
The new dessert cookie is already available at all participating Subway locations. However, unlike the original Footlong cookies, this collaboration is not a permanent menu item, so grab one while you can next time you go to your local Subway. Subway has not publicly said how long the Oreo footlong will be on the menu.
This is the latest dessert to be available in Subway locations. Alongside the original footlong cookie released in January of last year, the brand released its Sidekick collection, which includes the Cinnabon footlong churro, and the Auntie Annie’s pretzel footlong. In October of 2024, Subway released a holiday edition of the cookie footlong in the festive flavor of double chocolate peppermint.
Since the debut of the footlong cookies, over 13 million Americans have purchased the sweet treat, which helped set up the collaboration with Oreo. The original cookie footlong ended up being so popular, that when Subway temporarily removed the option to order the treat online and for delivery in February 2024, the chain brought it back not even a full month after.
Oreo is no stranger to collaborations. In the past, the cookie brand has had team ups such as the Lady Gaga Chromatica Oreos in 2021, Star Wars Oreos, Sour Patch Kid Oreos, Coca-Cola X Oreo cookies and drink, and the upcoming collaboration with American rapper and singer, Post Malone, which is set to release in stores on February 3.
