General Mills Releases New Selfie Spoon to Solve First World Problems

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at UGA chapter.

First the selfie.

Then the selfie stick.

Now we have selfie spoons. This week, a Cinnamon Toast Crunch commercial promoted the new product stating, “Everyone loves a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch, but if you don’t post it on social media, did it really happen?”

You can order your selfie stick ASAP right here. #necessary

Apparently, selfie sticks just weren’t cutting it. How on earth were we supposed to take pictures of ourselves eating cereal? Did the creators of the selfie stick ACTUALLY expect us to hold the stick in one hand AND hold a spoon in the other?

Shoutout to Cinnamon Toast Crunch for finding a cure for this #FirstWorldProblem — we were all a bit worried there for a minute.

Mad props to anyone who can guess what this is.

Now we can snap and snack at the same time.

In case you’re wondering how this high-tech tool should be used, here’s a selfie spoon tutorial for dummies. After a crash course in the art of selfie spooning, order one for you and all your foodie friends for FREE plus shipping and handling.

Whether you’re ready to get down to crunchin’ or you’re still rolling your eyes allllllllll the way back into your head, you have to give props to General Mills for the idea.

I mean, all I can think about is stuffing some of their cereal goodness in my face. The craving struggle is REAL.

Lexi is studying journalism and music business at the University of Georgia and will graduate in 2018. Her love language is food (especially cereal), and she’s not afraid to make a mess or two in the kitchen. Tortilla chips, sweet potato fries, pumpkin bread, and pretty much any other carb (she doesn’t discriminate) make her foodie world go round. Consuming raw fish and meat gives her anxiety.
