You Need To Try The Secret Menu Pumpkin Spice Matcha Drink

Every year, Starbucks kicks off the fall season with its classic fall menu, featuring the fan-favorite Pumpkin Spice Latte. A drink so iconic that one could say it’s the star of the season. Starbucks may not have created the Pumpkin Spice Latte, but they have undeniably contributed to popularizing this widespread drink. This drink was first added to Starbucks’ menu in 2003 and has since been judged as delicious, basic, and yet still a fall essential. As a fall drink enthusiast, I can safely say that every time October comes around, this fall staple is a necessary order.

What is the pumpkin spice matcha?

This fall, TikTok has found a new favorite, and the gag is that it’s not even on the official menu. This secret menu mashup has been taking over For You Pages and stealing the limelight from the Pumpkin Spice Latte itself. This fall drink is called pumpkin spice matcha, and the hype from this new drink comes from how customizable it is. TikTokers have experimented with oat milk and almond milk to add a different twist to the fall drink, and I’ve yet to see it, but you could even decide to create a hot version for those cold autumn mornings. The best part is that it’s picture-perfect, too. Its bright green base mixed with the orange and brown pumpkin colors makes for a cute Instagram story.

Starbucks has answered customer demands by putting the spotlight on not-so-secret menu requests, otherwise known as the personalized drinks fans share with one another online. Starbucks has responded by making a few of them available through its app for a limited time. While they didn’t include this fall drink into their official menu, they did include certain secret menu drinks in the offers section of the Starbucks app.

Here’s what to tell your barista so that you’re able to enjoy this cozy autumn drink. Ask for a Grande Iced Matcha Latte with oat milk instead of 2% milk. Then ask them to remove the classic syrup. Ask the barista to add 2 pumps of brown sugar syrup, 1 pump of pumpkin sauce, and then ask them to include pumpkin cream cold foam and a pumpkin spice topping. If some of these add-ins don’t stand out to you, feel free to substitute them for what you prefer. Choose your go-to milk or skip the brown sugar if you don’t have much of a sweet tooth.

So if you’re thinking of giving this drink a try, go for it, because whether you’re a die-hard fan of the pumpkin spice latte or simply love the taste of pumpkin and everything fall-themed, the pumpkin spice matcha drink has it all. It’s the kind of drink that feels both comforting and unexpected, making it the perfect option for when you want something familiar but with some extra flair. Next time you’re in line at Starbucks, consider ordering this drink, but don’t be surprised if it shakes up your fall season!
