St. Patrick’s Day is one of the most underappreciated holidays, especially in regards to the themed, festive treats that are offered by fast food chains to celebrate. St. Patrick’s Day is known to celebrate lovers of mint flavored treats (I, included), and to celebrate the holiday, visit one of your favorite chains and try one of the festive treats listed! (rumor has it, it’ll make you luckier)
McDonald's: Shamrock Shake & McFlurry
To begin, the all time classic Shamrock Shake at McDonald's is a must-have each year. The flavors of vanilla and peppermint and the vibrant, bright green is a staple of every St. Patrick’s Day. Not in the mood for a shake? Try the Oreo Shamrock Mcflurry which I know is my go-to around March. This treat adds Oreos to the classic, festive staple, making for a tasty treat I know I’ll be heading to McDonald's for (pro tip: it’s especially good with a side of french fries).
Dairy Queen: Mint Brownie Blizzard & Under the Rainbow Shake
Dairy Queen has also kicked off St. Patrick’s Day festivities by bringing back two staple, seasonal treats: the Under the Rainbow Shake and the Mint Brownie Blizzard. The former is a vanilla shake mixed with strawberry and then topped with whipped cream and rainbow sprinkles. The Blizzard is a cool mint base, mixed with chocolate chunks and brownie pieces. Head to Dairy Queen for a sweet, festive treat!

Though some chains haven’t yet released their St. Patrick’s Day lineup, some highly anticipated items from previous years include the vibrantly green Shamrock Macchiato from Dunkin Donuts which featured flavors of espresso, Irish Creme, and vanilla. Insomnia Cookies has offered a limited-time Mint Cookies N' Cream Classic cookie, made with chocolate dough mixed with chocolate sandwich cookies and mint and vanilla chips. Another delicious cookie that has been a staple of the holiday includes Mallow Creme with Lucky Charms at Crumbl Cookies. This treat includes white chocolate chips and vanilla marshmallow frosting with Lucky Charms marshmallows sprinkled on top.
