ICYMI, last night was the 2025 Met Gala, and the celebs and attendees were dressed to the nines. The theme this year was “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” and aimed to celebrate the legacy of Black fashion through thee designers, trends, and cultural influences that have shaped style across generations. The red carpet was full of elegant tailoring and gorgeous suits, but inside, the fabulous guests were enjoying some very fancy foods. Luckily, Megan Thee Stallion snuck in her phone and pretty openly tried and reviewed some of the Met Gala food in a TikTok.
What food was served at the 2025 Met Gala?
According to Megan’s TikTok, the night started out with some small bites that she tried alongside rapper Doechii and WNBA star Angel Reese. The trio tried a lot of passed apps such as cornbread and caviar, white truffle lobster rolls, vegan lox, truffle chopped cheese, some kind of curry chicken bite, and hamachi.
The favorites between the three were the caviar and cornbread (they tried that three times) and the white truffle lobster rolls (which they had twice).
“I like it,” Doechii said in the video, referring to the cornbread.
“I said it was good. She didn’t believe me,” Megan added, pointing to Reese.
The vegan lox was not the best. “Uhhh, I don’t know about that one,” Doechii said.
“That was better then I thought,” Reese said.
Although it’s hard to imagine anything not being absolutely perfect, the chicken curry was apparently a bit dry. Megan and Reese loved the truffle chopped cheese, but Doechii did not.
“Nooo,” she said when she first tasted it.
“No, Doechii, keep chewing,” Megan told her.
“Nooo,” Doechii said again, shaking her head.
The hamachi was made of fish, puree carrots, avocado and peppers. “Okay, hold on. I’m scared,” Megan said when she first saw it. But after trying it, she did like it.
Wait, phones were allowed at the 2025 Met Gala?
Phones, like all Met Galas, were not allowed, but that didn’t stop Megan Thee Stallion from doing God’s work and giving us an inside look.
“I snuck my phone. I took the tape off,” she said, referring to the required piece of tape that goes over the cameras on everyone’s phone. In the last half of the three minute video, Megan got videos with every celeb you could name. Cynthia Erivo, Tessa Thompson, Angela Bassett, Serena Williams, Ciarra, and Michael Kors, just to name a handful.
What do people think of the Met Gala food?
People were eating up Megan’s video, pun intended.
“The real content everyone wants from the met gala,” one commenter wrote.
“This is what the people wanna see! Like daymn show the the table decor too,” another user said.
Some fans even had some great ideas based on the video. “Cornbread and caviar better be the name of y’all’s COLLAB,” referring to the original trio of Megan Thee Stallion, Doechii, and Angel Reese.
