This past Friday was Spoon University’s first ever “Man v. Spoon” event.
The weather could not have been more perfect as four teams of serious foodies, with their grumbling stomachs, gathered on the lawn of the AEPi fraternity house to face off in an eating competition.
Each team of four decided amongst themselves which food they would be chowing down on in this relay-style event. They began with hot dogs from Ray’s Red Hots, followed by some Washtenaw Dairy donuts, a slew of bananas, and, naturally, a pan filled of whipped cream to finish off the race. No hands allowed, of course.
The winners of the competition were awarded $50 gift cards to Mani Osteria and Isalita.

For those unwilling to face a post-competition stomachache, the event also served free Dominos pizza, endless pop-chips, and more of Ray’s hot dogs. Did I mention there were multiple kegs as well?
It was the start of “darty season”, AND the ticket sales benefited Relay for Life. I’d say it was a win-win.
