Italians keep on proving why they are the food mecca of the world. On May 18, 2016, they set a new Guinness World Record for the longest pizza ever made.

Over 250 chefs gathered in Naples, Italy; the place where pizza as we know it originated from.

The 11-hour long feat required: 2,000kg of flour, 1,600kg of tomatoes, 2,000kg of cheese, 200 litres of olive oil, 30kg of basil, and 5 wood-fired ovens on wheels. As the pizza was put together, the ovens were pushed along the assembly line to cook it to perfection.

The traditional Neapolitan pizza stretched out to 1.15 miles. That is just over 6,082 feet, breaking the previous world record by more than 1000 feet.

Drooling? The best part about it is that the lucky bystanders were given slices of pizza, and the rest was given to those in those in need.
