In 2023, Amazon Prime Video’s Jury Duty took over the internet. Everyone was obsessed with Ronald, the unsuspecting real character in a cast of actors who knew that they were playing a part in a scripted mockumentary. Everyone besides Ronald knows that the entire thing is scripted with scenes planned by producers. Ronald captured the hearts of viewers with his wholesome demeanor and commitment to remaining a good person, despite the crazy, fake scenarios that were being thrown at him. This year, Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat has given us Anthony: another unsuspecting victim who thinks he’s working as a temporary assistant at a family-owned hot sauce company’s annual retreat. Despite the company retreat and employees being fake, the hot sauce featured has entered the real world — and viewers can get their hands on it.
What is Rockin’ Grandma’s Hot Sauce?
The family-owned hot sauce company featured in the show is called Rockin’ Grandma’s Hot Sauce. The CEO of the company, Doug, is preparing to retire and hand over the business to his underqualified son, Dougie Jr. Of course, this isn’t real, but to Anthony, it’s far from fake. To make the brand seem even more real for Anthony when he applied for the job of temporary worker, producers even went as far as making an Instagram account for the brand back in 2024, featuring videos of the apparent CEO and photos of the various sauces.
From an unsuspecting eye, this seems like a normal Instagram account for a small hot sauce brand. You can see their different flavors, including smoky, sweet, and classic hot. Each bottle features the company’s slogan: it’ll knock your socks off. If I had seen this account before the season aired, I would have probably tried to place an order.
Is Rockin’ Grandma’s Hot Sauce real?
The answer is slightly complicated. Rockin’ Grandma’s Hot Sauce is technically a fake company created for the purpose of Company Retreat. However, creators of the show at Amazon took it a step further and decided to make bottles of Rockin’ Grandma’s available for purchase. They didn’t want the sauce to only exist inside of Anthony’s world — us watchers deserve to get a taste, too.
Through a collaboration with Prime Video and Dave’s Gourmet, fans of the show can purchase their own bottles of the iconic, no longer fake sauce. The collaboration features a lineup of four flavors, including hot, sweet, smoky, and Jamaican jerk. You can purchase these sauces individually for $9.98 each, or buy the variety pack for $34.99.
If you get hungry for the sauces while watching the show, you can search “Shop the Show” in the Amazon shopping app to grab some of the sauce for yourself. Just because the company is fake for Anthony doesn’t mean it needs to be fake for us.
