Chili’s Is Dropping Merch & It’s Actually Cool

Chili’s has always been an iconic restaurant both on and off of the Internet, known for popular dishes like the tender Baby Back Ribs, sizzling Tex-Mex fajitas served on a hot cast iron pan, and the shareable Triple Dipper — though most people choose to eat the whole thing themselves…and yes, I’m guilty of this.

Now, Chili’s is turning a few of its most craveable and recognizable menu items into the realm of comfortable fashion with their brand new Suburban Collection — a merch line that acts as an homage to the suburban culture that the restaurant has participated in shaping for decades.

“Streetwear has dominated mainstream fashion for years, but now we’re starting to see suburban wear have its moment as more consumers are drawn to relaxed, comfort-first fits,” said Jesse Johnson, vice president of marketing at Chili’s, in a press release.

What is the new Chili’s merch?

With a new focus on balancing comfort and style, the new merch collection from Chili’s features oversized, casual pieces of clothing that translate the fan-favorite food moments into something wearable.

My personal favorite piece from the merch line has to be the Cropped Cheese Pull Quarter Zip, which celebrates the viral Fried Mozzarella pull. It’s a green quarter zip pullover with red accents that literally turns your arms into a giant cheese pull when you stretch your arms out, complete with the halves of the split mozzarella stick at the ends of the sleeves so it looks like you’re holding them.

If you’re committed to the mozzarella stick bit, the Cheese Pull Hat might be the perfect accessory to complete the outfit — you’ll be decked out in full Fried Mozz regalia.

For fans that enjoy game days at Chili’s the Vintage Rugby Shirts, available in red and green, and Varsity Jerseys, available in green and white, are the perfect way to show your sportier sense of fashion while only being affiliated with Team Chili’s.

Chili’s fanatics that prioritize comfort over everything might find the Chenille Pepper Hoodies and Suburban Tees most appealing out of the collection offerings. The hoodies come with a heritage logo design and an embroidered chili pepper on the sleeve. The tees, which feature the iconic Chili’s logo on the front, are available in both oversized and cropped fits. Accessorize with the classic Chili’s cap with a 3D puffy logo, and everyone around you will know what restaurant you stand with.

Accessories are also available in this new merch line, and the options seem endless. With a new Baby Backs necklace, a 14k gold-plated Margs necklace, bumper stickers and laptop stickers, water bottles, and — my personal favorite — a keychain honoring their legendary Baby Back Ribs jingle, which just got a makeover from singer Lizzo. Some millennials might start hearing “I want my baby back, baby back, baby back” playing in their head now, and as a Gen Z member, I can confirm that this commercial jingle is already stuck in my head.

Where can I get the new Chili’s merch?

The Suburban Collection drops on Wednesday, September 30 at 11 a.m. EDT exclusively on WelcomeToChilis.com, but My Chili’s members can get early access to the collection on September 29. Make sure to grab these stylish pieces before they’re gone so you can rep your adoration for Chili’s with pride.
