Follow These Creators To See The Best State Fair Food

State fairs are always an attraction, not just because of the rides or prizes, but because of the food. In Kansas, you can find bacon-wrapped fried Oreos. In Indiana, you‘ll discover pickle pesto pizza. In South Carolina, you can taste fried Pepsi and in California, you will come across a different kind of burger, a cotton candy burger. State fairs attract locals and tourists year after year to experience the games and rides, but also to try some dishes not available anywhere else.

This year, the inventions include the most interesting food combinations that we’ve seen in years past, and several food content creators are taking us along to taste all the best dishes. Here are all the food content creators trying the fair foods you know and love, plus tons of other fresh dishes you’ve never heard of. Whether you are planning a trip to one or just like watching other people eat, follow these influencers to find out the best state fair food.

Tony Cu

Tony Cu is a content creator who travels around the United States and, along the way, tries and reviews food from different cities. This year, he attended the Iowa and Wisconsin state fairs. At the Iowa state fair, he tried an all-American scramble, an egg roll with bacon, sausage, hash brown, and cheese. He described it as crispy, complimenting how well the cheesy ranch goes on top of the egg roll. He also tried the stars, stripes, and s’mores beverage, which is a mixture of Dr. Pepper, marshmallow and chocolate drizzle, toasted marshmallow, vanilla, whipped cream, and graham cracker dust. He was skeptical it would work, but after tasting it, he said it all blends well and has an amazing flavor.

Cassidy is a food and fashion content creator based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She attended the Wisconsin State Fair, and among her favorites were the deep-fried bourbon pecan pie with an ice cream ball on the side, as well as a pretzel-wrapped hot dog, both of which she rated a 10 out of 10. She applauded the unusual food combinations, but she wasn’t a big fan of common items like corn dogs, dill pickles, or deep-fried cookie dough.

Stop 2 on the State Fair Tour is the Tennessee State Fair right outside of Nashville. While they had signs on the individual booths/trucks of fair food/drink winners there wasn’t a list or a way to find out what was new. They had the most reasonable prices of any state fair I’ve ever been to though. #statefair #fairfood #nashville #tennessee #fyp

Sani is a food and travel content creator, and just in time for state fair season, she is looking for the best food at these events. So far, she has gone to Wisconsin and, most recently, Tennessee. At the Tennessee state fair, some of the items she got were pork frychos, pulled pork on fries, instead of chips, for nachos, which she described as being very well seasoned. She found a stand where they were deep-frying a lot of items, including caramel chocolate. She loved this item so much that she hopes it is a recurring item.
