A Mayo Phone Case Is Now A Thing

Hailey Bieber rocked social media when she dropped the Rhode phone case, a phone case that doubles as a lip gloss holder for Bieber’s Peptide Lip Treatments and Tints. The case went viral after its release in 2024. Since then, it’s been a staple for the “clean girl aesthetic,” and its impact on pop culture has led to many dupes. Now, there is one to hold your mayo (phew).

On May 19, condiment brand Ayoh! and founder (and cookbook author) Molly Baz posted photos on Instagram of their newest product — a phone case that holds to-go mayo packets. The company surprised Baz with five different colored cases and to-go sized sauce packets for her birthday on May 9. The colors coordinate with the mayonnaise flavors offered by the company: orange for the spicy Hot Giardinayo, yellow for the tangy Dijonayo, green for the Dill Pickle Mayo, and blue and white for the original mayo.

Ayoh! was born during the pandemic when Baz was constantly making sauces for her sandwiches. Tired of spending a large amount of time making sauces to pair with her sandwiches, Baz came up with the idea of flavored mayo, or “Sando Sauce.” The Dill Pickle Mayo has chopped dill pickles, garlic, dijon, dill, and black pepper. Hot Giardinayo contains calabrian chilis, hot cherry peppers, and giardiniera (pickled vegetable relish) for the perfect kick. The Tangy Dijonayo is packed with spicy Dijon mustard, mustard seeds, and chopped cornichons.

Baz reacted to the gift with much gratitude and excitement. In the company’s Instagram post, she was all smiles. On her personal account, she posted a collection of photos, including mirror selfies, with the caption “@haileybieber do u approve?”

How are people reacting?

The public’s reaction to the birthday gift is full of excitement. Majority of users commented how they want one of their own, saying what an innovative idea this is and asking if these will become available for purchase.

Instagram user @goodeats_withk commented on Baz’s post, “THIS IS SOOO GOOD! A sauce on the go when the restaurant doesn’t have that good gooooood mayo 🔥.”

Other users expressed concern over copyright. User @kirbiejohnson questioned the legality of the product, “Won’t they get sued? Or is this different from the patent Rhode has?” The cases seem more like a parody item, meaning that it imitates a product in a satirical way. Claiming the gifts as a parody can keep the company safe from copyright infringement.

Where can I buy the mayo phone case?

As of right now, Baz or the company haven’t said these cases are for sale. But Instagram users, like @_victoriajayne_ and @taymthom, have expressed their desire for a case with comments like “I need a dijonayocase asap,” and “Not a want but a NEEEEED.” Even grocery stores have joined in. Heirloom Fine Foods Market and Cafe wants to sell these cases in store, commenting “This shiz is so good we need them at our store! ❤️🧡❤️💜💙” This positive feedback could potentially lead to a future product drop — only time will tell.
