You all have to agree with me that the chocolate and peanut butter combination is a match made in heaven that has been kissed by the gods a thousand times over. But how do you feel about chocolate, peanut butter, and beef together?
And yes you heard me right I did say BEEF. If this sounds at all appetizing to you then you may just need to grab your passport and hop on over the border to see what all the fuss is about, because the Canadians were the masterminds who dreamed up this crazy concoction.
On October 22, a burger chain called The Works Gourmet Burger Bistro based in Ontario unveiled a burger they are calling the Reese’s PBC. This burger is not only topped with Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, but also stuffed with them. Now, if the Canadians think they can get me to skip dessert by making it a part of my meal, they are clearly underestimating me.
This sweet and savory (and outrageous) combination is a part of the chain’s “Get Stuff’d” campaign. The Works describes this burger as being “stuff’d with Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups candy right inside our juicy beef patty and topped with crispy onion strings, two strips of smoked bacon and even more Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups candy.”
Man, I got a food baby just reading that description. I mean all of those ingredients are delicious separately, but together? I am not so sure. I guess I will be eagerly (or nervously) waiting to see if this trend catches on and makes its way to the United States.
Until then I’ll just be sitting here pondering what insane food combinations will be dreamed up next. How does a Twinkie filled burrito sound? Or Twizzlers in your sushi? Maybe they’ll put Oreos on a salad. I mean hey, if the Reese’s PBC taught us one thing it’s that you shouldn’t knock something until you try it. Especially if it involves dessert.
