7 Signs You’re Romantically Involved with Guac

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at UVM chapter.

Guacamole isn’t just dip, it’s life. It makes for a nutritious snack, and can be ordered as a side for almost every meal. You can eat it while you study, snack on it while you Netflix and chill, and devour it during those midnight munchies. We all know guacamole holds a special place in your heart, but here are some signs that you’ve taken your relationship to the next level.

1. You’re always willing to pay extra for it (no matter how much it is).

Whether you are eating a burrito at Boloco or having crispy corn tacos at Chipotle, you can’t seem to have a satisfying meal without paying for an extra side of guac.

2. You’re obsessed with the DIY face mask.

Avocado face masks nourish and moisturize the skin, simply using materials you can find in your own kitchen or at your local grocery store. All you need is a ripe avocado and tablespoon of honey — it’s that simple.

3. You dream of new dishes you can pair it with.

Forget dreaming about flowery meadows and long romantic walks on the beach. Nothing makes you happier than dreaming up some new dishes and recipes to use guac on. Steak and guac? Is that a thing?

4. You crave it at 3 am.

Having the late night munchies can be a struggle, especially when it comes to finding real food to satisfy your hunger, as well as being nutritious. You can turn your craving into a healthy midnight snack in your dorm room with this recipe.

5. You bring it everywhere.

It makes for a great study snack at the library as well as an awesome appetizer at a social gathering. What better way to fill in those awkward pauses than by chowing down on some chips and guac? A big plus: it’s good for you.

6. You’re practically a guac connoisseur.

You will judge restaurants based on their quality of guacamole. If it doesn’t meet your expectations, you know you’ll never be back there.  If it exceeds your expectations, it officially becomes your new favorite place.

7. You love guacamole, and you know it loves you too.
