Women’s history month - the month of March- is a time to commemorate and celebrate all of the wonderful accomplishments of women. Hopefully, you all have spent the month reflecting on the contributions of women. End off the month by getting your grub on at these women-owned restaurants in Athens, Georgia

Mama’s Boy

If there’s one thing about Athens’ college students, it’s that they love a good breakfast and brunch spot. For 16 years, owners Alicia Segars and Cooper Hudson have been serving the community. Not only is the food good, but the southern hospitality is unmatchable. With both vegan and vegetarian options, there is no excuse not to take a trip to one of the “South’s Best Biscuit Joints” as named by Southern Living.

Slutty Vegan

Over the past few years, Slutty Vegan owner Pinky Cole has made quite the name for herself. This is, no mistake, because of her genius vegan burger combinations. With 9 locations, this establishment is good for both vegans and non-vegans alike. This is evident by the popularity this chain has gained. What I personally love about this restaurant is that it gives those with sea-food allergies, like myself, a chance to try new fishy foods without needing an Epi-pen on standby.
