WHEN: November 3rd-9th

WHAT: FEED Durham is a campaign to raise awareness about the pressing issue of hunger through highlighting the work of the non-profit FEED and its efforts to fight hunger in the US and around the world. We hope that students and faculty will participate in both the campaign’s photo contest and food drive in order to do our part to combat hunger in our home state of North Carolina. The winners of our contests will receive a FREE meal at some of Durham’s finest restaurants!

Restaurants include:

HOW to participate:

1. Photo Contest

Want a chance to win a free dinner in Durham and an awesome FEED tote? Participate in our photo contest by checking our Facebook page or Instagram each weekday morning for clues about where the FEED tote may be found that day and which Spoon member will be carrying the tote around campus. When you spot it, snap a photo of the Spoon member with the FEED tote, and show us you found it by posting the photo as your Facebook status with the hashtag #FEEDdurham. Don’t forget to tag the Duke Spoon Facebook page! The photo with the most likes at the end of the day wins…so get your friends involved!

2. Host your own Mini Food Drive!

Support the cause and help us collect as much food as possible by starting your own mini food drive. You’ll have the week to collect as much food as possible from friends, classmates, and organizations you’re involved in. We’ll collect the food from you at the end of the week and the individual with the most food items wins a free meal! Just email us at spoonuniversityduke@gmail.com if you plan on participating and we’ll provide you with all the materials and details you’ll need. All food donations go to the Durham branch of the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina.

Tight on time? You can still support the cause by donating food items. Collection boxes will be located in the Bryan Center, Marketplace, Food Fac and Penn Pavilion.
