June Quan is the food, fashion and travel-related content creator, known on Instagram as @stirandstyle. She also has her own blog that has appeared on several food television programs. A few days ago, I had the honor of interviewing her to hear her story and philosophy on food.

How Did June Get Started?

The obvious first question I asked June was how she started her food blogging career. I was surprised when she told me that she initially started as an attorney for entertainment law. It wasn't until 3 years ago that she decided this wasn't her passion. "I wasn't happy and I didn't feel fulfilled," June said. So after an all-nighter at work, she left her job as an attorney and decided to share her love of food with the world.

June's Recommendations

June's current favorite restaurant is Lawry's Prime rib because she loves celebrating special occasions there.

In addition, her current favorite noodles are from Marugame Udon not only because of the freshness of the noodles but also because they are made right in front of you.

I've always been curious if June posts about foods even when she doesn't like them. When I asked her about this, she told me that she only posts food that she liked and wants to recommend to her viewers. Anything that she didn't like or has never eaten she will never post! Here's a video of her food trip to Japan!

Creating Sip

Sip, a new Matcha tea house popping up in Los Angeles, was actually started by June, her fiancé, and two other co-partners. They joined forces to combine their pre-existing rice ball and tea company to create Sip. June said that her favorite matcha drink is a traditional matcha, which is ceremonial matcha without milk or sugar.

June's Advice

The last question I asked June was what advice she would give to the foodie world. She told me that people shouldn't be afraid to do what they love. People shouldn't hold back just because they fear that they don't have the right footage or equipment. Anyone can use their camera or phone to create a story. And most importantly, the message she hopes to send people is to be authentic. She wants people to be true to themselves and express how they feel without being pressured by others or other trends. If people follow what they love, others will notice and support their passions.

It was a privilege to be able to talk with June as she is a very busy woman. To me, she is superwoman - traveling, eating, and living her life to the fullest. She inspires me to continue to share my passion for food and go beyond my limits. Someday I hope to also travel the world, discovering new culinary flavors and styles.
