If you’re anything like me, you have been listening to Taylor Swift’s latest masterpiece, Midnights, nonstop. If you need to snack on something while enjoying the music of a lyrical genius, I offer the perfect dessert pairings for your favorite songs on Midnights.

1: "Bejeweled" and Chocolate Truffles

"Bejeweled" is a song about glamming yourself up and making any place you walk into shimmer. Just like this fancy song, chocolate truffles are the epitome of a fancy dessert. The song mentions diamonds, glitter, sapphires, and more glamorous things, exposing the elegant nature of the lyrics. While listening to this song, embody your inner glam and indulge in some chocolate truffles, the fanciest dessert there is.

2: "Paris" and Macarons

While this might be an obvious pick, transport yourself to Paris and devour some French macarons. Like this somewhat underrated song on the album, macarons are an often neglected dessert. Both the sandwich cookie and the number 16 track deserve some more love. Bring your friends across the pond by eating some macarons and listening to "Paris."

3: "You’re On Your Own, Kid" and Poptarts

Poptarts are a classic breakfast that transports us back to our childhoods. "You’re on Your Own, Kid" reminisces on growing up and what it is like to be a kid. If you want to relate to the song lyrics, satisfy your yearning for the good old days by eating something that will immediately bring you back. P.S. "You’re On Your Own, Kid" is the perfect song to listen to while toasting your Poptart to the perfect temperature.

4: "Maroon" and Red Velvet Cupcakes

This pairing might also seem like an obvious one, but while it might be somewhat basic, this duo can not get much better. "Maroon," my personal favorite song on the album, is a lyrical masterpiece that mentions various shades of red. It would be wrong of me to pair "Maroon" with any other dessert than the classic red treat, a red velvet cupcake.

5: "Anti-Hero" and Souffle

While this may seem like an odd pairing at first, if you think about it, a souffle is the anti-hero of desserts. It is different from your typical cake as it forms asymmetrically. It is problematic because it never rises properly and is underappreciated as it gets overlooked when compared to a typical chocolate cake.

6: "Sweet Nothing" and Cotton Candy

Cotton candy perfectly embodies the song "Sweet Nothing." Cotton candy gives you the perfect sugar rush for about three seconds and then dissolves before you know it. Essentially, it is sweet, and then it is nothing.

7: "Snow On The Beach" and Hot Chocolate

While this pairing might not come to mind immediately when hearing the song title, hot chocolate is the perfect tasty drink to sip on while listening to this song on Midnights. Not only do marshmallows resemble snowflakes, but the warm sip of hot chocolate will transport you somewhere warm, like the beach!

Although Taylor’s music is amazing on its own, pairing it with your favorite dessert will make your listening experience that much better. The next time you listen to the Midnights album, snack on a tasty treat.
