We Taste Tested Arctic Zero’s Fit Frozen Desserts, and Here’s What We Thought

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at PITT chapter.

We all love ice cream. It’s a creamy, delicious, and sweet dessert completely acceptable to eat year round. Who doesn’t love a spot of yummy frozen dessert here and there? Or a whole pint when we’re feeling sad or hungry or adventurous or all of the above?

Sadly, most of us can’t dig into a pint of Ben & Jerry’s without feeling bloated and a little bit guilty/regretful afterwards. Luckily, this company has created a new line of “fit frozen desserts” that can help to combat an expanding waistline.

Arctic Zero Creamy Pints are just 35 calories per half cup serving (or 150 for the whole pint —because you can) and come in all sorts of flavors like salted caramel, chocolate peanut butter, and cookie shake.

If you’re feeling like splurging a bit more, you can pick up one of their Chunky Pints which are 75 calories per half cup serving or 300 calories for the whole pint. These babies come in flavors like buttery pecan, key lime pie, and cookie dough chip.

Another good thing? Arctic Zero’s ice creams are all lactose, GMO, fat, AND gluten free. Plus they’ve got a low glycemic index, and it’s all naturally sweetened – that means all you healthy people out there can join in on the fun, too.

So have I tried this ice cream sorcery? Why yes, yes I have.

Obviously, it tastes a little different. It’s a little less creamy and you gotta let it thaw out a little bit before eating or it will be like a weird, watery popsicle. But once you let that happen, it’s pretty delicious.

I’ve tried the buttery pecan (quite yummy), chocolate peanut butter (almost finished a whole pint on a 25-minute drive home), cookie dough chip (not as delicious, but then again, I didn’t let it melt), and key lime pie for this article (very lime, very pie, very good).

At around $4 per pint, I’d say they’re definitely worth it, because who wants to wake up with an ice cream hangover? Then again, a bit of creamy and delicious, full fat and lactose ice cream once in a blue moon never hurt anyone either.

To find out where you can buy Arctic Zero ice cream, use their product locator, drive to the store, buy the most intriguing flavor, and enjoy.
