This Week In News: New KIND Bars, Monk Fruit Sweetener, and More

New things are constantly coming out on a daily basis, and sometimes, it’s just too damn hard to keep up with it all. Some of what’s mentioned below might not be news to you, but it’s all news to me. The great thing is, after reading this article, you might just find your new favorite product. On that note, let’s get to reading the news.

General Electric

Most of us know GE as a company that provides us all with some form of lights. Recently, they’ve released something called Grow Lights, which were made for indoor gardening. The lights are simple to use and allow you to flex your green thumb year-round with a precise LED light spectrum that can potentially help plants grow even faster than they would outdoors.

Swoon

Tired of using regular sweetener in your coffee? Look no further than Swoon. Swoon is a monk fruit sweetener/simple syrup with zero calories, no gluten, is vegan, and is kosher, and will make your caffeinated or alcoholic beverages sweet without the extra calories of sugar.

KIND

Just hitting store shelves on August 27th, KIND just re-released their limited edition Caramel Almond Pumpkin Spice bars. Made with real pumpkin and whole nuts, the bars have five grams of sugar per bar without the use of artificial sweeteners or sugar alcohols. Having tried them myself, I can safely say that I won’t be ordering a PSL (or pumpkin spiced latte in normal people language) anytime soon.

BRWD Refreshing Energy

BRWD Refreshing Energy is a caffeinated plant-based beverage that’s designed to be an energy drink with a non-GMO barley malt extract base. It’s non-alcoholic despite its malt extract base, and is also vegan. BRWD’s also proud to share that they’ve followed the FDA’s caffeine guidelines of ~70mg per 12 ounce can. Currently, BRWD is currently available in two flavors, Citrus + Ginger and Cherry + Rhubarb, which are both amazing from what I’ve tried.

My/Mo Mochi Ice Cream

Perfect for fall, My/Mo Mochi Ice Cream will be launching two new flavors limited time only flavors, which are Pumpkin Spice and Apple Pie á la Mode. The limited-edition items will be hitting shelves in early September and will retail in packs of 6 for $5.99. My/Mo’s Pumpkin Spice flavor is reimagined with creamy, decadent pumpkin spice ice cream infused with cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove spices all wrapped in a pillowy mochi dough exterior. On the other hand, their Apple Pie á la Mode flavor wraps a doughy snacking sensation around a scoop of premium vanilla ice cream hugging a cinnamon apple center.

Please keep in mind that while everything in this article was sent to me, it’s all still news to you, the reader of this article. While I won’t say what my favorite product on this list is, I welcome you to try them out for yourself. It’s always exciting to learn about new things, don’t get me wrong, but sometimes, you ever know what your reaction will be to them until you try them out for yourself.
