Unless you’ve been living under a rock like SpongeBob, then you’ve probably heard of matcha; and if you live in New York, you’ve probably heard of a place known as MatchaBar. If you fall into any of the above categories or genuinely love new product launches, then you’re going to want to stay around and glue your eyes to this article for a second.
What are you talking about?
I’m talking about MatchaBar’s new beverage, which was recently brought into the world and named as the Honeypot Latte. It’s available at all of MatchaBar’s locations, which is crucial for those that need some matcha as a pick-me-up.
What’s actually in the latte?
MatchaBar’s Honeypot Latte has three main ingredients that come together to form the actual latte itself. The ingredients include a tablespoon of Honeypot CBD-infused organic raw honey along with MatchaBar’s famous ceremonial-grade matcha sourced directly from an independent family farm in Nishio, Japan, with Calendula as the latte’s topping.
Now you might be wondering what CBD-infused organic raw honey actually is. To start, CBD stands for a fancy people word that’s known as ‘cannabidiol,’ but has been shortened to CBD since having to consistently repeat the term ‘cannabidiol’ is absurd and a big no on my end. In short, CBD is a chemical compound in the cannabis plant. Unlike the more famous molecule, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), CBD is completely nonpsychoactive. And if you’re wondering if this will get you to be higher than a kite, the answer is a hard no. For the honey part… I think that’s self-explanatory; or not, thanks to the help of this article.
Now onto the Calendula part… Calendula is the scientific name for the ‘Marigold’ flower but is also a plant that has been used for centuries for ornamental purposes, as well as culinary, cosmetic and medicinal reasons, including for anti-inflammatory purposes and to help your muscles not spaz all the time. This would be great for athletes, or for people such as me that do an absurd amount of walking and sometimes wake up with my leg muscles cramping up.
Why drink it?
The main selling point to drink MatchaBar’s Honeypot Latte is because of the medicinal properties that I have mentioned above. The properties are similar to cannabis because once again, it relieves mental and physical. tension, both physical and mental. Another reason to drink said latte is the l-theanine and antioxidants in the matcha that MatchaBar uses enhances one’s focus, energy and alertness.
What else is there to know?
MatchaBar’s Honeypot Latte retails for $10, which by New York standards is a normal price for things; especially when other drinks are $13 and above, which is a whole other story of mine to tell. MatchaBar also has three locations to check out in addition to selling their bottled matcha in an array of markets, so you’ll never have to be without your matcha if you’re a matcha junkie (not like myself, but I do highly enjoy matcha).
While I don’t condone drinking matcha for every meal of the day, it’s definitely a ‘healthier’ alternative to consuming an absurd amount of caffeine from coffee and an even more absurd amount of sugar in soda. That’s why MatchBar has our back with their new CBD beverage known as the Honeypot Latte; they know that we need healthy green things in our lives, and for that reason alone, I salute them.
