We live in a world where we have to make decisions on basically everything. “Did you want to make that a large for $1.00 more?” Or “Did you want to sign up for our merchandise credit card to save 10% on today’s purchase?” It can get overwhelming. But deciding what should go with your froyo shouldn’t be a difficult. And the last thing you want is to be eating one of those awful froyo combos.
Just like with wine and chocolate pairing, there is an art to frozen yogurt combinations. There are certain fruits, sauces, and dry toppings that best compliment each yogurt flavor. We have decided to help make your choice easy and give you what we think are the 5 best froyo combos at Yogurt Extreme.
Yogurt Extreme
Yogurt Extreme goes above and beyond for their topping options. They carry your basic candies like M&M’s and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, in addition to some fun choices like Mochi candies and ‘Nilla Wafers. Uh yum! They also always have fresh fruit available. Did you know that all of their strawberries are cut by hand that morning? Fresh strawberries, ftw. With these practically limitless options, you can make some pretty delicious combos.
1. Sweet and Salty
Yogurt Extreme has a surprising frozen yogurt flavor that not many people know about. They carry the same Dole Pineapple that Disneyland carries, and let me tell you—it’s amazing. This flavor is also dairy-free and just as smooth and full of flavor as any other frozen yogurt.
We paired this flavor with what we thought was the best one to bring out that sweetness—Almond Roca. Who knew?! The pineapple is so sweet and when adding a little saltiness complimented the flavor, bringing a whole new taste to your palate.
2. Red, White, and Blue
Eurotart is exactly what it sounds like, a tart, plain, not super exciting, frozen yogurt. We found that this flavor tastes best with sweet fruits. We topped off this tangy dessert with fresh cut strawberries and fresh blueberries to help balance the tart flavor in the yogurt. We also added plain Mochi to the mix for something neutral.
Eurotart also tastes great with their delicious strawberry sauce or honey topped with granola if you’re wanting like a McDonald’s yogurt parfait —but way better.
3. S’mores Please
What’s great about Yogurt Extreme is that they will always carry at least one non-dairy flavor in their machine. This week, we were lucky enough to get the tasty flavorful Chocolate Fudge. We decided to pair this rich chocolate flavor with mini marshmallows, graham cracker crumbs, marshmallow sauce, and hot fudge.
It tastes just like a classic s’mores, but obviously frozen and you don’t need a campfire to eat this one.
4. The Works
Chocolate Vanilla Swirl has to be the best classic combo of froyo. What tastes better with chocolate than even more chocolate? We paired this chocolate vanilla swirl with mini chocolate chips, chocolate sprinkles, and Snickers pieces to give your taste buds the works. We also added a Nutter Butter cookie and a maraschino cherry to enhance the chocolate vanilla flavor.
If you want more of a sweeter combination, add more maraschino cherries to have one in every bite.
5. Gimme All Your Dough
Yogurt Extreme’s frozen topping selection is incredible. You get to choose from cheesecake bites, cookie dough pieces and sometimes coconut macaroons. We paired the Vanilla frozen yogurt with massive scoops of chocolate chip cookie dough and chocolate chocolate chip cookie dough. Topping this tasty dessert with some whipped cream and Ghirardelli chocolate syrup.
For the ultimate taste in each bite, we recommend mixing it all together and then grabbing a spoonful. Because, why not?
If you’re looking for a tasty treat or an excuse for a cheat day, give these combinations a try at Yogurt Extreme. There are dozens of combinations to try, especially when their yogurt options rotate weekly. With a number of gluten-free frozen yogurt choices, and at least one dairy-free option, the combinations are endless. As if you didn’t already know, froyo is the best treat for any occasion.
