To be honest, sometimes baking a cake is just too much effort. And washing endless measuring cups and mixing bowls afterwards is not exactly ideal. But when you have a craving for some make-for-yourself, eat-for-yourself cake, what do you do?
With this in mind, you can probably imagine how excited we are to share with you this spinoff of traditional French yogurt cake, which allows you to measure almost every ingredient with just a yogurt container. Not only is it as simple as do-re-mi to make, it’s beyond drool-worthy.
So what makes this easy as 3-2-1? Because most of its ingredients are measured in three, two, or one yogurt containers.
You can use a yogurt container of nearly any size, because the ingredients are in proportion to whatever size you use. We used a standard 6-oz. French Vanilla Yoplait for our version, and it. Was. Incredible. You’ll be making new friends left and right after you whip out this bad boy.
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
Total Time: 30 minutes
Servings: 12
Ingredients:
1 6-oz Yoplait Yogurt Container
1 yogurt container olive oil (¾ cup)
2 yogurt containers sugar (1 ½ cups)
3 yogurt containers flour (2 ¼ cups)
3 eggs
1 Tablespoon baking powder
Lemon zest (optional)
Confectioner’s sugar
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. Mix all of the ingredients, except confectioner’s sugar, together in a mixing bowl.
3. Pour mixture into greased baking pan. (We used 9×16)
4. Let bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown on top.
5. Sprinkle confectioner’s sugar on top.
Though the lemon zest is optional, it really adds a refreshing, tangy flavor which makes it perfect for the (finally) warm weather. We recommend pairing it with sweet tea and consuming as much as you can fit into your mouth. Enjoy.
