Angry Orchard Just Dropped a New Pink Rosé Cider

Last year, frosé (frozen rosé) basically took over the warm summer months of rosé season. I couldn’t go anywhere—from my Instagram feed to my local brunch spot—without seeing the millennial pink slushies. This year, the drink is getting another update with rosé cider, and yes, it’s still millennial pink.

What Is It?

Cider experts Angry Orchard introduced a rosé version of its hard cider this week and you’re about to see it at every spring break and summer party. The drink gets its vibrant color from a combo of a “rare red flesh apple” from France and the hibiscus flower. The floral aroma apparently isn’t overwhelming though—it’s just a hint.

The Taste

Ryan Burk, Head Cider Maker of Angry Orchard, said in a statement, “It’s crisp, refreshing, and unlike any other style we have crafted.” The company describe the taste as “apple-forward,” but “complimented by refreshing light tannins, similar to a semi-dry wine.”

They recommend pairing the rosé cider with creamy cheeses like gouda and feta, and heartier meats like ham and prosciutto. I predict college-goers are more likely to pair the rosé cider with another rosé cider though, then post it on Instagram. Honestly, same. There’s no really better combo than pink drinks and a sparkly filter.

Where To Get It

The cider has a 5.5% ABV (which is just a smidge above a signature Angry Orchard cider) and is available now across the US. You can pick up a six-pack or a 12-pack for your upcoming spring break and beyond. Just imagine sipping on this pink drink with sand between your toes (or with friends in your parent’s basement, whatever).
