Check it out. Oreos has no boundaries when it comes to testing new flavor profiles. Seriously, what hasn’t the snack brand tried to make into a cookie? Apparently, hot chocolate.
You’re probably wondering how hot chocolate is different than regular chocolate. Well, I’m wondering the same thing. Is the flavor going to have a marshmallow filling rather than cream? Is there going to be a layer of chocolate between the cream and the cookies? Is the cookie going to have a sweeter, milkier flavor? We’ll have to wait until October 2017 to find out.
JunkBanter tweeted a pic of Hot Cocoa flavored Oreos that he heard are coming out in October 2017. TheJunkFoodAisle, an Instagram account that designs mock-up packaging for popular snacks and brands, provides an image of what the treat might look like.
So while the above is just a mock-up, we can’t confirm that Nabisco is coming out with this new flavor, but we can debate about how these might taste. I’m guessing it’s going to be similar to a regular Oreo, with the faintest taste of marshmallow. At least the name of the flavor sounds more appetizing than a plain Oreo.
