Let me start by saying I do not like anything pumpkin spice-flavored. Every time it comes around, all I can think about is "when can we have candy canes and hot chocolate?" Mint is my favorite flavor all year round, but the end of November to the beginning of January is the most known mint season.

My Favorite Foods

chocolate, cake, peppermint, cookie

The best one by far is peppermint bark. It's white chocolate and mint all in one! It's also very festive-looking for the upcoming holidays. And it's fun to do with my niece because she loves to crush the candy canes.

Another fun idea is to make double chocolate chip cookies and to add mini mint marshmallows. It makes it extra creamy and add a new flavor to the mix.

You can also replace regular marshmallows with mint ones for Rice Krispies treats. Putting crushed candy cane and shaved chocolate on top so you can take an Instagram-worthy picture. These have to be one of the cutest things for mint season.

Some other great ideas are peppermint Oreo truffles, peppermint chocolate thumbprint cookies, candy cane cookie bars, and peppermint brownie trifle.

Flavorful Drinks

This is the peppermint mocha from Starbucks. I'm not a huge coffee person, but I absolutely loved this. It got me in the mood for the season and just look at the cute details.

I'm personally more of a hot chocolate person and making my own every year is a blast. My mom has this homemade hot chocolate mix that we use and I always add two drops of mint flavoring with whipped cream and crushed candy cane on top.

If you're of age then you could try my dad's favorite, peppermint eggnog cocktail. There's also martinis and vodka. This is a great idea for Christmas parties, thanks to mint season.

And I know the Shamrock Shake is for March, but if you make it pink, it fits into Christmas time. Even better is to find a local place that makes Oreo mint shakes. You will not regret it!

Honestly, everyone has their favorite flavor. For most, it's pumpkin spice for the win. I'm not like most people. I love my mint season. So get out there and try these mint foods and drinks!
