With a lack of daily effortless contact (like class and the dining hall) and constantly diverging schedules, finding your potential post-grad besties is hard. And, other than work and the gym, there aren’t a ton of places where you know you’ll be surrounded by people with shared interests. Well, until now.

First off, what’s a members’ club?
A member’s club is a place where people join to have access to the special amenities and offerings of the space. Members of Maxwell Social get access to the gorgeous, Tribeca-based, British-maximalism-inspired building to attend community events, plan their own events, and hang out with fellow members — who are gourmets, fashionistas, designers, entrepreneurs — all looking for community and camaraderie, too.
What types of events happen at Maxwell Social?
Maxwell Social regularly hosts community-building, fun events, like Family Dinner, which brings members together over good food and better conversation. Some of their other regularly hosted events include a Geopolitical Dinner Debate series, a Classics Book Club, intimate culinary experiences with talented chefs, movie nights, and evening happy hours, to name a few. Just like being on a college campus, Maxwell Social makes it easy to meet and connect with people who have similar interests and shared values. So, whether you’re looking for an opinion-altering conversation, a great meal, or simply somewhere to grab a drink, Maxwell offers plenty of ways to form deeper connections.
Can members still go if there isn’t a formal event happening?
Whether you’re looking to whip up a new recipe in the Maxwell Social kitchen, want to catch up on some reading in the Maxwell library, or simply want to go chit-chat with fellow members, the door’s open Friday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 a.m., and Sundays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Why is Maxwell Social a great place for gourmets to make friends?
Food is a huge part of the social experience at Maxwell Social. There are chef residencies, supper clubs, cooking classes, chef’s tables, and opportunities for members to cook dinner together after work. Once you’re ready to plan your own event, you can curate the perfect menu for the dinner party of your dreams, invite other members (aka your new friends!), and host a fun night in your second home. There really is no better way to bond than over a good meal.
How does the membership work?
Membership starts by submitting an application, being sure to let your unique personality shine through! They look for spirit, not status. The next steps include having multiple interviews with founders and members (aka your future besties), attending an event, and generally seeing if there’s a mutual fit. The simple question they ask to see if it’ll be a fit: “Do we want to sit next to each other at dinner for three hours?” Finally, if you’re accepted, you’ll be placed in a cohort to help you transition into the club and make it easy to meet fellow members.
