I consider myself to be quite a lucky girl. I always find pennies on the ground heads up. I always find a surprise $20 in a pair of jeans I forgot I had. But this past week I felt like I hit the mother load, with an exclusive invitation to attend Lucky Rice‘s LA Feast on my birthday.

Lucky Rice moved their annual Los Angeles Feast to DTLA, which is a new epicenter of culinary innovation, to showcase the best of the city’s Asian and Asian-influenced chefs & mixologists. Hosted by the cooler-than-you Seoul Sausage trio, this Feast was populated by over 40 of LA’s top Asian-minded culinary heroes.

This is easily the best foodie event ever and here’s why:

The Ambiance

The event took place at one of Los Angeles’ beautiful event spaces Vibiana. Here, guests enjoyed an indoor area (pictured above) and an outdoor area decorated in twinkle lights. Luckily, the indoor area was adequately air conditioned, for this we could have not have been more grateful, because it was a particularly hot July evening.

The Drinks

Almost everyone would agree that the best events are the ones where the drinks pour freely. LA Feasts delivers on this and so much more. Sixteen signature drinks mixed by some of LA’s most talented mixologists were featured and sponsored by Bombay Sapphire East Gin. My personal fave was the Bombay Sapphire East Gin Silk Journey (made with Bombay Sapphire East Gin, Fresh Lime, Pomegranate Syrup, Oolang and Mandarin Tea). I could use one right now #daydrinking.

I can really thank Lucky Rice for introducing me to my newest addiction: Bruce Cost Ginger Ale. The Pomegranate with Hibiscus is amazing. They are a Brooklyn based company but I have already hunted them down and found out we can get them from Shop House in Santa Monica.

Doesn’t that menu make you wanna lose your mind? And yes, everything was as delicious as it looks including, but not limited to, my personal favorites:

Eagle Rock House – PBJ Duck Confit Buns: House-made cut buns, duck confit, pickled radish jam & peanut butter sauce.

This booth had the longest lines of the night. The combination of duck confit and peanut butter sauce was a real crowd pleaser.

Parks BBQ – Seared Beef with Kimchi Rice.

The beef was tender well seasoned and the Kimchi rice was perfectly cooked and flavorful. I went back for seconds (and thirds).

Bling Bling Dumpling – Chicken & Thai Basil Dumplings.

I could eat my weight in dumplings; they were so good.

Ramen Tatsunoya – “Koku” Tonkotsu Ramen: Cloud Ear Mushroom, Green Scallion, House-made Garlic oil, spicy Miso and a slice of Pork Belly on top.

That broth was simply amazing. Seriously I want to bathe in that broth, and the noodles were deliciously fresh.

Creme Caramel LA – Filipino Mini Pavola: Coconut Meringue, Ube custard, Graham cracker and Greek yogurt crumble.

A little something sweet was definitely a delight and I literally ate 10 of these by myself.

The Swag

No good party is complete without a healthy dose of swag to take home.

Each guest was given one (and sometimes more than one) cute little brown envelope which contained 2 cards in each, one good for FREE Chipotle (burrito, bowl or salad) and the other for FREE Shop House (burrito, bowl or salad).
