Recently, I have seen tons of juice cleanses advertised on social media and all over the internet. I had always wanted to try one, but after a quick Google search and seeing the $50-$200 range in price I decided that it was way out of my budget. One day, my sister and mom came back from Whole Foods with twelve bottles of various juices in hand and my sister Betsy said we were gonna do a one-day cleanse together. I was excited to try the cleanse and was even more excited that my wallet didn't have to take a hit. The cleanse we did was a beginner one from the brand BluePrint focused on resetting your digestive system. For this cleanse, food was off limits, so we spaced the six juices out throughout the day. It was overall a pretty good experience, but, needless to say, at the end of the day, I was very very hangry...

Juice #1: Kale it Up

Anna Keefe

Not to be dramatic or anything, but this was actually the worst thing I've ever drank in my entire life—and I've tried a lot of weird stuff. I am generally not a fan of kale smoothies or juices and this drink was certainly no exception. Although I like all the ingredients in the drink individually, mixing them all together and putting them in a juice, was definitely not the best move. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Juice #2: Pineapple Power

I was a little worried that this juice was going to make me feel sick because I'm kind of allergic to pineapple. But, I decided to stick to the cleanse and it didn't make me feel any worse than the other juices. This juice was drinkable if you drank it quickly, but had a pretty bad aftertaste. Definitely not as bad as the kale one, though.

Juice #3: Kale it Up

Oh man, not again. I actually wanted to quit the cleanse when I found out I had to drink an entire other kale juice. This time, I decided to just chug the entire thing and chase with water, and despite gagging a few times, I was surprisingly able to stomach the drink. Catch me never drinking one of these drinks again.

Juice #4: Lemon Reset

I actually really liked this juice. It was almost like an amped up lemonade, which I loved. The cayenne in the drink added a bit of spice, but wasn't too overpowering. I thought the drink was refreshing and tasty and would definitely just buy it on its own.

Juice #5: Beet Blast

Tbh, I didn't love this drink. I was at work when I was drinking it and it stained my lips pink so I looked kinda funky. The drink was definitely not as bad as the kale one, and beets are one of my favorite foods, but I just couldn't come to like this drink.

Juice #6: Nut and Bolt

Finally, the last juice. This juice almost tasted like a protein smoothie. It was nutty and a little chunky and it had a kind of almond buttery taste—which I loved! It was definitely my favorite juice out of the 6, which makes sense because it was the least healthy. Overall, I thought the cleanse was a fun experience. Although the juices weren't something I would normally gravitate toward, they filled me up and I wasn't too hungry throughout the day. Plus, it was good for my body and definitely made me feel more confident throughout the day!
