If you're up-to-date on the food trends of the world, you already know that consumers are increasingly choosing plant-based products over traditional dairy. Don't get me wrong: milk, yogurt, and ice cream were once my guilty pleasures too. I never thought a plant-based version of these treats would be as good as the real thing.

Then, I tried The Collaborative plant-based yogurts, and let me tell you, these are even BETTER than traditional dairy. In fact, they made me forget that dairy-based yogurts were even a thing.

About the Planet

The Collaborative has nailed the perfect blend of creamy sweetness in their coconut yogurts without sacrificing the planet to do it. Not only do their products use less water and CO2 emissions than traditional dairy products, but they are also completely vegan, gluten-free, and low sugar. They don't use GMO's and their packaging is recyclable.

About the Taste

Hands down, my favorite flavor was the Dulce non Leche yogurt. I had to use a photo from their website because I literally ate all of these before getting a chance to photograph them...

The best part of the Dulce non Leche flavor for me was that it was perfect on its own. If you don't have any fruit or granola to mix in, no problem! Trust me, you'll want to eat the entire container either way.

I also tried Plain, Mango and Passion Fruit, Blueberry, and Vanilla.

I used the plain yogurt in my banana bread recipe, and it came out as one of the best banana breads I have ever made. Therefore, I actually rank plain as my second favorite flavor, followed by blueberry, mango and passionfruit, and vanilla.

The blueberry and mango passionfruit have extra fruit layered on the bottom to mix through the entire yogurt. The fruit tastes fresh and is not overpoweringly sweet or artificial tasting, as in some bad yogurts I've tried.

The plain and vanilla flavors are classic staples for a reason. I usually ate these for breakfast, and dressed them up with some fruit, granola, and/or nuts. Honestly, since the yogurt texture and flavor is already good, you don't need many toppings.
