Which Holiday Treat Matches Your Vibe, Based On Your Zodiac Sign

With the holidays approaching rapidly, the days growing shorter, and the stress that the holidays can unfortunately bring, the end of the year can be jolly but hectic. Not to mention how many of us are frantically rushing to figure out what festive dessert to bring to the gatherings we’re attending this season. What if we told you your zodiac sign could help you decide what to bring? From simple, classic treats like roasted chestnuts (on an open fire?) to extravagant, complex recipes like bûche de Noël, we’ve matched each assigned zodiac sign with the best festive treats to get you in the holiday spirit this December.

Aries (March 21 – April 19)

Roasted Chestnuts

The first sign of the zodiac, Aries, is known for being bold, ambitious, and independent. This passionate fire sign is the perfect match with these fire roasted chestnuts. Versatile in what they are cooked with, and often used as a street food, roasted chestnuts is an easy snack that’s able to be changed — which is perfect for an Aries’s impulsive personality.

Taurus (April 20 – May 20)

Mulled Wine

Tauruses are known for their love of luxury. What screams comfort and luxury more than a warm mug of mulled wine? Hot red wine, mulled with orange zest, spices like cardamom and cinnamon, and sometimes cloves or raisins, is the perfect holiday treat for a (21+) Taurus. Combined with a cozy environment and a holiday movie, a mulled wine will undoubtedly make a perfectly restful cold winter night at home.

Gemini (May 21 – June 20)

Christmas Crunch

Known for their spontaneous, curious, and playful spirit, the dual nature of the Gemini goes perfectly with Christmas crunch (or trail mix). This snack can be made in a number of different ways, often including white chocolate-coated popcorn, pretzels, and red and green M&Ms. The sweet and salty flavors of this treat will satisfy both sides of a Gemini’s tastes.

Cancer (June 21 – July 22)

Baked Alaska

Represented by a crab, Cancers are known for their hard outer shell — you have to establish trust to get to know them. Baked Alaska is characterized by its soft interior of cake or christmas pudding and ice cream, with a hard, shell-like exterior of meringue. The dish is carefully baked or torched to harden the outside, but not melt the inside components. Once you break open the shell, like with a Cancer, you can enjoy the sweetness inside.

Leo (July 23 – August 22)

Spiced Eggnog

Known for being vivacious, fiery, dramatic, and often great leaders, spiced eggnog is the perfect holiday treat for a Leo. Topped with spices like cinnamon and nutmeg and sometimes mixed with spiced rum, this bold treat will no doubt be the center of attention at any holiday gathering — just like a Leo!

Virgo (August 23 – September 22)

Gingerbread House

Virgos, known for their sophistication and kindness, are also known for their focus on perfection, which is why a gingerbread house is the holiday treat for them. A Virgo will no doubt make the most pristine, beautiful, and delicious gingerbread house you’ve ever seen; you’ll wish you could move in and pay the mortgage yourself. Always working hard and towards their goals, a Virgo will never give up, even if the frosting-glue wears away and the gingerbread roof comes crashing down.

Libra (September 23 – October 22)

Peppermint Mocha

Represented by the scales, Libras are interested in harmony and diplomacy, as well as beauty and romance. Any Libra will love a peppermint mocha for the balance between the bitter espresso and the sweet peppermint and chocolate flavor. The flavors work in perfect harmony, and topped with a swirl of whipped cream or latte art, the drink is visually appealing, also aligning with a Libra’s desires.

Scorpio (October 23 – November 21)

Fruitcake

Scorpios are known for being independent, trailblazing, and self-starters. For one of the most misunderstood signs of the Zodiac, often seen as mysterious and controversial, is one of the most misunderstood holiday treats — a fruit cake! With countless different recipes for a fruitcake, often including dried or candied fruit, there’s certainly a way for any fruitcake hater to find a way to learn to love it.

Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21)

Candy Cane

The perfect stand-alone treat, easily consumed on-the-go, a candy cane is the ideal holiday treat for the adventurous Sagittarius. Coming in countless different sizes, shapes, colors, and flavors, a candy cane (though not always necessarily a ‘cane,’) is as versatile as this brazen fire sign. With its striking mint flavor, this treat matches up with the Sagittarius’s bold, fearless personality.

Capricorn (December 22 – January 19)

Yule Log

A patient, dedicated Capricorn will no doubt love making and eating the bûche de Noël (Christmas Yule Log), which is a classic French dessert with ties to ancient Celtic and Germanic solstice traditions. This recipe takes incredible patience and attention to detail, with many steps and a preparation time of about twelve hours — baking a bûche de Noël is not for the weak. It is incredibly difficult to fold the cake over without breaking the dough, but with a Capricorn in charge, persevering through tough times (or dough), it will be the most decadent, immaculate dessert you’ve ever seen.

Aquarius (January 20 – February 18)

Cranberry Jello Salad

Unique and independent, an Aquarius will always be the one to bring the cranberry jello salad to the function. This holiday treat is a family favorite to some, or a Christmas-time nemesis to others. Either way, this salad of cranberries, crushed pineapple, Jell-O, sometimes other fruits or nuts, often topped with cream cheese, is a sweet and tart must-have at any holiday gathering (even if nobody touches it).

Pisces (February 19 – March 20)

Sugar Plums

If any sign is going to love a sweet, fantastical holiday treat that reminds you of fairies, it’s a Pisces. Sugar plums, by themselves, are sweet candies made of dried plums, spices, nuts, and coated in sugar — they are a deceptively simple treat that anyone can make this holiday season. A Pisces, who has a vast imagination and is deeply intuitive, is the perfect match for sugar plums.
