Back in 2004, Justin Gold founded Justin's in his kitchen. Gold's goal was to create delicious nut butters full of protein, and he succeeded. Nowadays, Justin's products are available in stores including Whole Foods, Walmart and Target. I was lucky enough to receive some samples, and here's how Justin's nut butter is changing the way you snack.

Initial Thoughts

I received three different full-sized nut butters, three varied flavors of peanut butter cups and some snack packs. To find your favorites, I recommend sampling all of the company's products. After sampling the ones that I received, I can honestly say all of the products were delicious.

Nut Butters

Justin's is mostly known for healthy nut butters. Before this, I tried Justin's honey almond butter, which I am still in love with. The company sent me its almond butter, peanut butter and chocolate hazelnut butter. All of these were delicious, but my absolute favorite is the chocolate hazelnut butter.

If you've never tried their chocolate hazelnut butter before, you're honestly missing out. To be honest, this is not a dupe for Nutella, but I am definitely using it as a replacement from now on. The label says that this product contains "50% less sugar than [the] leading brand," which is why the two do not taste exactly alike.

Justin's chocolate hazelnut butter tastes less sweet than Nutella, and the flavor is pretty similar to dark chocolate.

The first two ingredients listed are dry roasted hazelnuts and dry roasted almonds, which explains the nutty flavor. The texture is also a bit gritty, and it really emphasizes how the natural and organic ingredients come together to form this product. I would recommend using the chocolate hazelnut butter on anything you would normally put Nutella on.

Peanut Butter Cups

The peanut butter cup flavors I tried are white chocolate, milk chocolate and dark chocolate. The peanut butter cups are available as regular-sized, or there are mini versions in the dark and milk chocolate flavors.

Justin's peanut butter cups are definitely different than Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. The chocolate surrounding the peanut butter on Justin's product is denser, and it provides a satisfying crack when you bite into it.

The peanut butter is not as sweet as Reese's, but that allows you to appreciate a more natural peanut butter taste. The peanut butter portion of the cup is slightly smaller than a typical Reese's. In my opinion, Justin's peanut butter cups have a better chocolate to peanut butter ratio. It's a more delicious product overall, because you taste so many more flavors other than sugar.

My favorite flavor of Justin's peanut butter cups was the milk chocolate one. They come in pairs, just like Reese's. Bonus: the little cardboard piece that comes along in the package is actually a coupon for other Justin's products. Out of the three packages, I received two different coupons: one for "one free Justin's squeeze pack," and two for "buy one snack pack, get one free."

Snack Packs

Justin's snack packs are the perfect portable treats. These packs feature one of the company's delicious nut butters with a little something to dip with, such as pretzel sticks or banana chips. These remind me of an adult version of Handi-Snacks.

The snack packs come in perfect little portions. Some of the pairings between snacks and nut butters include maple almond butter with pretzels, chocolate hazelnut butter with pretzels, and honey peanut butter with banana chips.

My favorite snack pack is the maple almond butter and pretzel. The saltiness of the pretzels complements the maple almond butter. Make sure to mix the maple almond butter beforehand because the product gets quite thick as you get towards the bottom, which can cause your pretzel stick to snap.

The snack packs are super portable and really filling, and I had no idea this product existed until I was able to try them out. I'm literally obsessed with these now and keep them in my bag at all times.

Final Thoughts

You cannot go wrong with any of Justin's products. I was in love with the maple almond butter before I reviewed these products, but now my love spans across this brand. Justin's is now my go-to for anything nut butter related, from spreads to desserts. Don't miss out on any of these Justin's nut butter products — they all have their own unique tastes and textures. I promise, you will not be disappointed.
