Frito-Lay Might Discontinue These Snacks In 2025

With a new year approaching, most are reflecting on the year and creating their ins and outs of 2025. For the food lovers, restaurant items like the Dunkin’s Brown Sugar Shakin’ Espresso and McDonald’s fan favorite Snack Wrap are at the top of the list. There are a lot of exciting things to look forward to, but in the midst of the good also comes bad, too. For those who are huge on their snack game, you may experience heartbreak when you hear that Frito-Lay will reportedly be discounting multiple snacks in 2025.

What snacks is Frito-Lay discontinuing?

According to social media user @snackwithzach, 15 snacks under Frito-Lay are being discontinued in favor of new items and flavors that will replace them. The most-well known snacks that are being discontinued include Dorito Dinamita Sticks and SmartFood Flamin’ Hot White Cheddar Popcorn. All of the snacks are expected to disappear from grocery stores in January 2025, and the new items will immediately take their place.

Many snacks that are being discontinued mainly consist of Cheetos and Doritos. Cheetos Flamin’ Hot Tangy Chili Fusion is being replaced with a new Cheetos Puffs Cheese Pizza, while SmartFood Flamin’ Hot White Cheddar Popcorn is being replaced with a brown butter popcorn of the brand. If that wasn’t enough, all three of the Doritos Dinamita Sticks are being discontinued and replaced with three different flavors of Doritos. The new flavors that are replacing the Dinamita Sticks are tangy golden sriracha, extra flamin’ hot, and loaded tacos. The Ruffles Lime and Jalapeño are also being replaced with a new barbecue flavor.

What are some of the new Frito-Lay snacks and flavors?

The Cheetos’ popcorn of both flavors (Cheddar and Flamin’ Hot) are being taken over by SmartFood. Tostitos Mexican Three Cheese will be replaced with the Hint of Queso flavor, and the Black Bean And Garlic flavor is being replaced with the current blue corn flavor of the brand. The Lay’s Honey Barbecue Poppables are also being discontinued and its replacement is rumored to be a sea salt flavor. The Sun Chips chili lime flavor is being replaced with a honey barbecue flavor. PopCorners Sour Cream And Onion flavor is also being replaced with a Jalapeño Popper flavor.

On the bright side, the pretzel brand Rold Gold will be introducing three new flavors — Doritos Cool Ranch flavor, Dill Pickle, and a rumored Flamin’ Hot flavor. Out of all of the discontinued snacks, there are some interesting ones to look forward to.
