There’s only one thing Pittsburgher’s could ever love more than a view of their city’s skyline: food. PNC Park is not only about watching America’s favorite pastime, it’s about enjoying some yummy food. Maybe you’re just looking for peanuts and cracker jacks, but let me let you in on a little secret: there’s so much more than that at PNC Park. If the game is not quite as entertaining as you imagined, take a walk around and find one of these iconic ball game treats.
1. BRGR
There’s nothing more American than a hamburger. If you’re sitting in PNC Park cheering on the Buccos and your stomach starts to growl, head over to Section 115 to find the BRGR stand. One last thing: Your burger simply cannot be complete without a handcrafted milkshake, so you better order one.
2. Sweet Spot
Looking for something to satisfy your sweet tooth? Run over to Section 119 to find the ice cream you’re craving. Whether you’re into soft serve or good, old-fashioned ice cream, Sweet Spot has your heart’s desires. Take your pick between a waffle cone, cake cone, cup or an ice cream sundae in a mini-baseball helmet for the perfect take-home souvenir.
3. Primanti Bros.
Ask anyone where you should go for a classic Pittsburgh meal and I’m sure they’ll recommend one place: Primanti’s. There’s no way you can come to Steel City and pass up a “sammich” from Primanti Brothers. The sammich of your dreams is found in Section 110.
4. Chickie’s & Pete’s
Maybe you’re not looking for a meal, maybe you just want something to satisfy those ballpark cravings. Have no fear, Chickie’s & Pete’s is here (along the third base line concession stands to be exact). You already had fries with dinner? Who cares! There’s no way you can pass up these mouthwatering seasoned fries. And even if you can’t finish them all by yourself…who am I kidding, of course you can.
5. Cotton Candy
“Cotton candy! Get your cotton candy here!” There’s not a single inning where you won’t spot these beloved vendors. Sure, maybe cotton candy was a food from our childhood, but you can’t deny cotton candy to go along with you’re Pirates game experience.
Whether you were after a good baseball game or a good bite to eat, there’s no doubt you were satisfied at PNC Park. Let me know if you find a baseball park with a better view and better concessions.
