The Easiest Food Pranks To Pull For April Fools’ Day

With April Fools’ Day tomorrow, it can be easy to get lost in the widescale pranks people are pulling on social media. But the pranks you might pull do not have to be as massive; they can be smaller and harmless.

Honestly, nothing hits quite like harmlessly messing with someone’s food. It is unexpected, chaotic and still technically edible, no food waste here!

The Classic Toothpaste In An Oreo

Are you meeting up with a couple of friends and bringing a snack? Grab a pack of Oreo cookies from your pantry or the store and replace the inside with toothpaste. It is very important to make sure the toothpaste is solid white, no blues or greens! When someone grabs a cookie, instead of the chocolate and cream mix, it is going to be a minty surprise.

The Reverse Sandwich

Offer to make someone a sandwich. Something quick and easy to eat for lunch. Yet, when you go to make it, do it all backwards. Instead of bread with the goods in the middle, put the cheese and lunch meat on the outside with the condiments. Wrap it up and hand it to your unsuspecting victim.

Orange Juice…Or Cheese Juice?

Summer is getting closer and the weather is changing. It is always smart to stay hydrated during the warmer days. Why not a nice big glass of orange juice? Or, a glass of water that has been mixed with cheese powder to make it look identical.

Spaghetti & Meatballs Ice Cream

What a great idea for dinner. Spaghetti and meatballs are a classic dish that will re-energise you. But instead, when you dig in, the spaghetti is vanilla ice cream, the sauce is strawberry and the meatballs are chocolate cake pops. A surprising but most likely well-received treat.

My Food Has Eyes

I get it, it is a busy time of year. You do not have time to cook or make all these items. But, you might have the time to run to the store or your nonna-maxxing craft collection to grab a pack of googly eyes. Open your friend’s fridge or pantry and paste them on everything. Now, when they open their fridge, their milk is staring back at them or Tony the Tiger is looking a little different on their Frosted Flakes cereal box.

Keep It Cute!

At the end of the day, April Fools’ Day is less about going viral and more about the moments that make people do a double-take. That split second where someone takes a bite and then pauses to process what they just consumed.

That being said, be careful/ Maybe do not hand your friend who hates Oreos one that is filled with toothpaste. And avoid anything that could be potentially hurtful to those with allergies or dietary restrictions. Keep it simple, harmless and edible.
