8 Filthy Martinis For When A Dirty Martini Won’t Cut It

I know it hasn’t even been two weeks yet, but I’m calling it: the Dirty Martini will be the “it girl” drink of 2025, and bonus points if that girl is an absolutely filthy martini. While a martini is typically defined as gin or vodka with a touch of vermouth, a dirty martini is deemed as such thanks to the addition of olive brine or juice, which makes the clear liquor appear “dirtied.” Plus, while a standard martini is typically garnished with a lemon twist, a dirty martini often includes a more substantial toothpick of stuffed olives. There are some days, though, where a martini with a little snack just won’t cut it. Instead, filthy martinis are the upgrade you may be looking for to take your savory cocktail to a full-fledged alcohol soup.

What is a filthy martini?

If you want to make your bartender blush, try ordering your martini “extra dirty” or “filthy.” This take on a martini often features a higher ratio of salty olive brine in the drink, and usually includes a splash of lime or lemon juice for extra citrus. Plus, a filthy Martini hones in on the olive brine’s distinct taste in an otherwise Dirty Martini and turns it up to the max, and sometimes includes additional ingredients like lime juice and a pickled caperberry garnish.

Luckily, we live in the age of social media, and no amount of pure filth is off-limits: especially when it comes to absolutely wild cocktail combos. We’ve rounded up 8 filthy martinis that have graced (or cursed) our explore pages so far in 2025 if you’re ready to try this dirty, dirty cocktail trend for yourself.

BLT Bloody Mary Dirty Martini

Why have a martini on the side of your BLT when you can have a side sandwich in your filthy martini? Take a page out of @cookingwithhollyb’s book and start by rimming your glass with pickle juice, then dipping the rim in salt and everything but the bagel seasoning. In a cocktail shaker with ice, combine two shots of vodka, Worcestershire sauce, pickle juice, olive juice, pepperoncini juice, Tabasco, Bloody Mary mix, and lemon juice.

Her garnishes include a skewer of olive, pickles, and pepperoncini; a caprese skewer with mozzarella, basil, and tomato; the classic Bloody Mary garnishes of shrimp and celery; and, “since it’s dinner,” a whole BLT sandwich with a few extra slices of bacon.

The Filthiest Dirty Martini Ever

This drink by @colettescocktails on Instagram is apparently the filthiest dirty martini you’ll ever try. Start with gin and dry vermouth in a cocktail shaker with ice, then add blue cheese olive brine, caper brine, cocktail onion brine, and freshly cracked black pepper before shaking. Strain this filthy mixture into a chilled martini glass and garnish with blue cheese olives, cocktail onion, olive oil, and even more black pepper.

Chipotle-Tini

Skip the burrito and head straight to @tinitimewithsauce’s Chipotle Tini featuring the Mexican food chain’s signature Chipotle vinaigrette, barbacoa broth, and hot sauce. Start by spraying a glass with vermouth and freezing, then add vodka, vinaigrette, barbacoa broth, and olive brine to a shaker with ice. Strain into the chilled glass and top with olive oil and chipotle hot sauce, and garnish with tomato, red onion, guac, and an olive.

Pickle Martini

This pickle martini by @alexawhatsfordinner tastes just like the salty snack, thanks to the addition of pickle brine and cornichon pickles garnish. Pop a dill pickle spear and six dill pickle coins in a jar with a few sprigs of fresh dill and top it with vodka, to create pickle-infused vodka, then pour that over a vermouth-rinsed glass and garnish with mixture of spicy feta-stuffed olives cornichons, and garlic stuffed olives.

Bagel & Lox Martini

Why order a brunch mimosa or Bloody Mary when you can have a filthy martini inspired by bagel and lox? This recipe from @thethirstygals combines vodka, vermouth, and lemon juice with caper brine for an acceptably dirty martini — that is, until it’s poured into a glass rimmed with cream cheese and everything but the bagel seasoning and garnished with smoked salmon.

Sea Salt & Vinegar Martini

Another @cookingwithhollyb creation, this alcoholic take on the salty snack combines Bombay gin, white wine vinegar, and saltwater for a simple martini that is downright filthy martini. If you want to be extra savory, garnish the rim with crushed salt and vinegar chips.

Olive Garden Martini

Unfortunately, there’s no unlimited breadsticks with Instagram user @tinitimewithsauce’s dirty Olive Garden martini. Start by adding your choice of vodka or gin, then add pepperoncini juice, olive juice, and (obviously) Olive Garden’s signature Italian salad dressing. Shake and strain into a glass rimmed with parmesan cheese, then top with olive oil and black pepper and garnish with tomato, pepperoncini, and an olive.

Caesar Salad Martini

Combine two crucial elements of girl dinner — a martini and Caesar salad — with this filthy martini by @logansfewd. Add ice to a shaker with vodka, Caesar dressing, and garlic olive juice and shake until cold and combined. Rim a glass with lemon juice and parmesan cheese before rinsing a martini glass with vermouth and pouring strained martini on top and garnish with garlic-stuffed olives and olive oil. All you need is a side of French fries.

Seafood Boil Martini

As one Instagram commenter put it, @logansfewd needs to be stopped. This seafood boil-inspired filthy martini features vodka, clam juice, garlic olive brine, vermouth, lemon juice, and Old Bay seasoning in an Old Bay-rimmed glass, garnished with cocktail shrimp and a lemon wedge.
