In case you haven’t heard, something huge is coming to good ol’ Easton, PA. The Easton Public Market has just announced that its grand opening will take place on March 18, 2016. That’s right, we’ve got a month to prepare ourselves for this culinary extravaganza.

What exactly is the Easton Public Market?

It’s kind of like our wonderful farmers’ market, but with a greater variety of foods. Plus, it’s indoors in a building located on Northampton Street, which means it’s walking distance from campus.

What kinds of food can I get?

At the Easton Public Market the world is your oyster. Their list of vendors includes a creperie, a BBQ joint, a noodle bar, a pie place, and more. You can also get unprepared foods at their Farmstand which is basically like a mini farmers’ market. Everything you eat will be local, fresh and tasty.

Is there anything else to do there?

Hell yeah, there is. The market features a fully functional demonstration kitchen that will be used to host weekly cooking classes, local restaurant and celebrity cooking demonstrations and classes about nutrition and healthy eating. The kitchen will also be used to film local culinary programming.

You now have no excuse for your bad cooking- there are cooking classes right at your fingertips.

Will there ever be other events?

Easton is no stranger to food themed events. I mean, we’ve got our annual Bacon Fest, Garlic Fest and so many more. Therefore, it would be a crime if the EPM didn’t carry on this tradition. But Easton foodies shouldn’t worry, the Public Market website promises tons of events and private parties to keep us sated between other food themed fests.

See you at the Grand opening, folks. Come nice and hungry and you’ll leave feeling nice and happy.
