Every Food-Related Show on Netflix, Including Those Coming This October

Some of my favorite Sundays have involved sleeping in until I’m hungry, ordering food, and retreating back to bed to watch Netflix. Don’t judge—you’ve done it, too. Of course, some of the best shows and movies revolve around food (hello “Chef’s Table”). Luckily, this month, the streaming service will be adding two new movies and a dessert savvy show for the food fans. Here are the food shows and movies to come this month and when, followed by every single food-related thing available on Netflix.

1. No Reservations

Available: Oct. 1

Category: Romantic Comedy/Drama

Kate Armstrong (played by Catherine Zeta-Jones) is a fierce master chef at a NYC restaurant—she takes zero BS. But when her sister is killed in a card accident, she becomes the care-taker for her 9-year-old niece (Abigail Breslin). While she takes it all in, her boss decides to hire a very talented sous chef to help out (Aaron Eckhart). Of course, Kate doesn’t want the help. But this is a romantic comedy, so I’m sure you can figure out the rest of the story, or you’ll just have to watch and see!

2. Charlie and The Chocolate Factory

Available: Oct. 1

Category: Musical Fantasy/Comedy

Yes, the one with Johnny Depp is coming. Although he’s a little more creepy than he is dreamy in this one, Depp plays an amazing Willy Wonka. You probs know the story, so I won’t go into too much detail, but basically this kid Charlie wins a ticket to visit Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory along with some other kids, but Charlie’s the coolest of them all. Everyone eats a ton of sugar, and some even get lost along the way. Like, this would be a lawsuit ready to happen IRL. But this is Roald Dahl’s world, and were just living in it.

3. Zumbo’s Just Desserts: Season 1 (Netflix Original)

Available: Oct. 31

Category: TV Series

The title is pretty self explanatory here. Hosted by chef and patissier Adriano Zumbo, this Australian baking show invites amateur home cooks to compete for a chance to win $100,000. And yes, it’s JUST desserts.
