Dolly Parton, the queen of country music, is partnering with baking brand Duncan Hines to release a Southern-inspired baking collection including cake mixes and frosting. The baking collection also contains a special edition spatula, tea towels, and a personalized letter from Dolly herself.
The partnership highlights traditional Southern flavors and recipes such as Coconut- and Banana-flavored Cake Mix paired with Vanilla and Chocolate Buttercream Frosting. The announcement comes soon after a collaboration between Dolly and Jeni’s Ice Cream to create a Strawberry Pretzel Pie flavor inspired by Dolly’s new album and book.
“My Mama, my grandmothers and my aunts were all wonderful bakers,” Dolly said on the Duncan Hines website, “Now I am proud to share some of those favorites with all of you.”
The Baking Collection currently costs $40 plus shipping on the Hines website. The products are currently sold out, but interested customers can sign up to be notified when the collection becomes available again. The individual products will eventually be available for retail at grocery stores in March, with cake mixes priced at $2.19 and frosting at $2.09. According to Thrillist, this release is just the beginning of an ongoing relationship between the cake mix brand and Dolly.
