Food trucks are one of the greatest inventions of all time. I mean really — whoever came up with a mobile food opportunity that is most likely open late and has good food should get a Nobel Peace Prize, or something. But choosing a truck can be the hardest part, especially when you’re in the mood for something but you just don’t know what and you really don’t have the time to wait in line at Wendy’s for the 7th time this week. This is your official definitive answer for the important question: what food truck should I eat at?

Burrito Buggy

The Holy Grail of Athens food trucks is the Burrito Buggy. It is usually one of the first things alumni ask about when they hear you’re going to Ohio University, and has one of the longest lines on any given day. The lines are fast and totally worth it though, because the food is to die for. The Burrito Buggy gives poor, starving college kids a great big burrito that could fix any liquor pitcher hangover, make a bad grade grade on a test not-so-awful, or make the $10 in your wallet feel like a million while also stuffing you full. It is always in its same, amazing spot on Union Street, and you can bet that it will always satisfy.

Not Guilty

If you’re craving something that your mom would make for lunch, 10/10 would recommend the comfort foods at Not Guilty. They have some of the best soups and smoothies, and the prices are just as guilt-free as their eats. Another huge perk? They use fresh foods from the area, so they support local farmers and serve up some happiness at the same time. We recommend trying one of their many grilled cheeses and chilling on college green for a certifiably relaxing college day.

Petru Chocolate

It’s the newest of all Athens food trucks, but don’t count it out. Chocolate is for anyone and everyone, and for every occasion possible. This beautiful blue truck is a sight for sore eyes any day, especially because all of their delicious truffles are made fresh on the truck daily. If you’re in need of a chocolate fix because of a recent breakup, just failed your Political Science midterm, or even for happy things — like finding out you just landed that internship that you’ve been pining over for months — you have to stop here.

Kona Ice

Who doesn’t love shaved ice on a hot af day? Even better, who doesn’t like color-changing spoons (yeah, you read that right) that come with that ice on that hot af day? If you’re into tasty flavors, fun spoons, and cool treats on a really nice day, we recommend trying Kona Ice. Kona is one of the more elusive food trucks in Athens, but when it does appear it’s definitely a favorite. There’s just something about having that shaved ice on your walk home that brings you back to childhood and melts your stress away. Bonus points: you can put your own flavors on your ice, which means that this is a DIY interactive truck, and who doesn’t love that?

Ali Baba

God bless Greek food, amirite? Ali Baba’s delivers delicious eats out of their infamous red truck and sometimes that’s really all we can ask for in this life. Their specialty is Gyros, and let me just tell you, it’s really a specialty. It boasts the title of one of Athen’s oldest food carts, and there’s a reason they’ve stayed in business for so long.

Hungry Cat Food Truck

For the Bobcats that waited all year to find out that they actually have $400 in their flex points account and so don’t want to wait in line at Shively again, there’s the Hungry Cat Food Truck. It’s usually parked at the top of Morton Hill, by the new dorms on south, or in some other high-traffic area. It’s a steal, and it gets you out of waiting in the lines at the dining hall. Score.

Bottom line? We have a bomb-ass school, bomb-ass students and alumni, and best of all, we have bomb-ass food. So go out, hit up a food truck, and join in on being bomb.
