With a million health trends going on in 2021, personalized nutrition and adaptogens should be at the top of your list. I had the pleasure to interview Priya Mulvihill (nourishedbypri), founder of You Again Foods.

You Again Foods is a brand of baking mixes inspired by ancient nutrition and Ayurveda. These baking mixes are full of, superfoods and adaptogens that not only have powerful health benefits but can really help boost mood, vitality and productivity.

How It All Started

About a decade ago, Priya got involved with health and nutrition. She was an endurance athlete and like many others, she got involved with unhealthy diet trends and calorie tracking. After a severe injury during the Boston Marathon in 2016, she she realized that she had to work towards taking care of her health.

As a daughter of Indian immigrants, she grew up with Ayurvedic nutrition. Ayurveda originates from India and she started incorporating a whole food approach and understanding what her body really needed.

What is You Again about?

You Again offers three baking mixes which are vegan, gluten-free, organic, and sustainably sourced. They are made without refined flour and sugar and are full of nutrition from superfoods like Ashwagandha and Maca.

Each baking mix is made using an Ayurvedic principle which can be made to improve functionality and one’s energy. The three delicious mixes available are - Oat Ginger Raisin, Mint Chocolate, and Chocolate Chip. Each serves a different purpose such as boosting mood, increasing focus, reducing anxiety and inducing a calming effect.

Advice from Priya

As a female entrepreneur, she took a risk to launch her business during the COVID-19 pandemic and converted that risk into an opportunity to reach out to a bigger audience to promote Ayurveda. She said, “If you have something, put it out. There is someone, somewhere that will resonate with you”.

My Personal Reviews

My first taste test was with the Oat Ginger Raisin cookies. I am a big ginger and oats fan, and I loved this mix a lot. This baking mix consists of maca, lion mane and Chaga, known to increase energy, focus and clarity. This was a perfect afternoon-pick-me-up and easily replaced my second cup of coffee.

Next, I tried the chocolate baking mix. Instead of baking it, I used inspiration from Priya and made chocolate chip cookie dough balls instead. The ingredients in this baking mix are Ashwagandha, Reishi and Holy Basil. I put the cookie dough balls in the freezer and they tasted phenomenal. I was anxious about homework and felt instantly calm after trying them. This was my favorite baking mix!

Lastly, the mint chocolate chip baking mix contains cacao, spirulina and cordycep which can boost performance and reduce stress. My friend made the mint chocolate chip cookies and her reviews were "Super delicious sweet treat to fuel my mornings and wake me up! Definitely want to order the other flavours again!"

Overall, the baking mixes are packaged in a super cute aesthetic with a description of the benefits each flavor specifically provides. As a college student with a busy schedule, I could easily make these cookies in 10 minutes without any sort of prep.

Each mix costs $15.99 which is a little expensive, however if you buy a variety pack, each mix will save you $1.50!  The good part is, one entire baking mix can make around 12 to 16, cookies which is a good amount!

I am all about the packaging, aesthetic, colors, and the fact that You Again Foods really did enhance my mood and performance.
