It's the most wonderful time of the year, and I'm not talking about Christmas. We are days away from the Queen's Homecoming weekend. Every year students get excited to celebrate their school spirit and may choose to crush beers and take shots. One crucial aspect of Homecoming is food. It's impossible to drink all day and stay happily buzzed without eating something. Otherwise, you'll be spending your Hoco at KGH.

While it's important to eat before you choose to drink, your drunk self will also have a few cravings to satisfy. Here are the top places to visit during Queen's Homecoming to fuel your stomach and recharge you for the next party.

1. The Queen's Pub

Located on the second floor of the JDUC, this pub is iconic for its cheap food and tasty sangria. Whether it's their signature QP Club, the Honey Garlic Wrap, or a Classic Burger, there's sure to be something for everyone to eat. Plus, you can order alcoholic drinks while indulging in your food. Count me in for some Tropical Sangria.

2. Smoke's Poutinerie

Fries, cheese, and gravy? A trio made in heaven. If that's not enough to satisfy you, try adding bacon, pulled pork, chicken, or an assortment of veggies to your poutine. This will be sure to fill your empty stomach and give you some much-needed calories.

3. McDonalds

Uh, can I get a cheeseburger with extra pickles? No matter where you are, this joint is good and reliable to fuel your drunken state. I mean, who hasn't gone to McDonald's when drunk? The location on Princess street can get crowded easily, so be prepared to wait in line behind your fellow Gaels.

4. Dominos

Honestly, who doesn't order Dominos on Queen's Homecoming? Their cheesy garlic bread is to die for and so is their pizza.  Pro-tip: you can avoid waiting for your pizza by pre-ordering it to be delivered at any time you'd like during the day. You can imagine how busy food delivery services are going to get during Homecoming, so take advantage of pre-ordering and surprise your drunk self with some much-needed pizza.

5. Mucho Burrito

Instead of stuffing your stomach full of alcohol, stuff your stomach with a loaded burrito. It'll wrap you in happiness and keep you satisfied while you continue to party. Plus, a burrito can be somewhat healthy as long as you add enough lettuce and peppers and take it easy on the sour cream.

6. Tommy's

Hello ladies and gents, I've found the love of your life and his name is Tommy. This diner is located right in the hub of Queen's and is home to some delicious breakfast foods and burgers. If you're looking for something greasy to fuel your engine this is the place to go. Tommy's is about to close for a few months to repair flood damages, so this might be your last chance to indulge in diner food for a while.

While there is no shortage of places to get food on Hoco, this list comes in handy if you choose to drink and are looking to get some food. Wherever you choose to get food on Queen's Homecoming, you're sure to have a tasty meal that will satisfy your drunken cravings.

#SpoonTip: Spoon University Queen's doesn't encourage binge drinking. While many choose to drink during Queen's Homecoming, you are by no means expected to. Enjoy this delicious food whether or not you choose to drink! And above all, be safe this weekend.
