In the latest season of The Bachelorette, we all watched the most painful breakup between Hannah B and Tyler C. Once the show ended, we’ve spotted the Jupiter, FL native hanging out with Gigi Hadid and even apartment hunting in New York City. Although, it seems like what has been taking up most of Tyler’s time now is ABC Food Tours, which was founded by his best friend Matt James.

ABC Food tours is a non-profit organization that is led by Matt J and Tyler C and is designed to educate the underprivileged youth of New York City on how to create a healthy, active lifestyle for themselves while also providing the opportunity to try cool new restaurants in their local communities.

These two handsome men pictured below on Tyler's Insta became best friends during their years of football playing at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, which is where the idea for ABC Food Tours came to life.

The Mission

In today’s day and age where childhood obesity is on the rise due to lack of nutritional knowledge, these two are implementing a program where children can learn in a fun, exciting way. The majority of these children come from less-fortunate backgrounds and they do not receive the proper knowledge on how to have a healthy, active lifestyle, or even get the chance to go eat at a restaurant in their community.

How It Works

Tyler and Matt select a wide variety of restaurants for the ABC Food Tours with the goal of exposing the kids early on to different kinds of cuisines and cultures from all over the world. Although the children might not try every single item, they are highly encouraged to do so and often are surprised with how much they enjoy the new food. Tyler and Matt have worked with more than 50,000 kids across Manhattan and Brooklyn so far and are currently planning to expand to the Bronx by the end of 2019.

Sponsor a Kids Tour Today

Since high-quality, healthier foods are on the pricier side of the spectrum, Tyler and Matt pay for everything themselves for the most part along with donations they receive from people on their website. Sometimes they will even host events to raise money for the tours. Tyler once put together an event at Soul Cycle and people were able to sponsor tours and ride along with him at one of the studios! So, in other words, keep your eyes peeled for these events and visit their website to sponsor a Kids Tour today.

As my mom always says, “Kids are like sponges; they absorb everything you teach them.” And Tyler and Matt are doing just that by exposing these kids to new foods and experiences. Importantly, they also focus on how to lead healthier lifestyles.

It's pretty amazing that these kids will always remember the ABC Food Tour they did and maybe even apply what they learned to their own lives going forward. Bravo Tyler and Matt! Proud to be a #Deac all day every day.
